The posting

We are looking for a People Administrator to join our team and support the day-to-day operations of our People (HR) department.

The purpose of this role is to support the effective day-to-day running of the People function by ensuring that all employee administration, coordination and processes are executed accurately, timeously and with a high level of care and discretion.

As a People Administrator, you will play a key role in supporting the employee lifecycle and enabling the broader team to operate efficiently. This role is best suited to someone who is detail-oriented, organised and eager to build a long-term career in People/HR within a fast-paced, operational environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing general HR administrative support to the People team across the employee lifecycle.
  • Coordinating and administering employee onboarding and offboarding processes.
  • Maintaining accurate employee records, HR systems and relevant trackers.
  • Supporting payroll administration, employee changes and benefits-related processes.
  • Administering COIDA documentation, claims and annual returns.
  • Coordinating training activities and maintaining accurate training records.
  • Assisting with recruitment administration, including interview coordination, background checks and relevant documentation.
  • Liaising with external suppliers and obtaining quotations where required.
  • Supporting employee engagement initiatives, internal events and other People-related activities.
  • Ensuring employee information and documentation are handled with strict confidentiality and discretion.
  • Providing administrative support on ad hoc People projects and initiatives as required.

Reception & First Point of Contact

  • This role is based at our reception area, where you will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, walk-ins and candidates arriving at our offices. While this is not a traditional receptionist role and the primary focus remains HR administration, you will also be the face of the company for those entering our premises.
  • You will be responsible for welcoming visitors, assisting arriving candidates and directing guests appropriately. Visitor traffic is generally low, allowing you to focus on your HR responsibilities. A private room is available nearby for confidential employee discussions when required.
  • This aspect of the role suits someone who takes pride in representing both the People function and the broader company and who approaches every interaction with professionalism, warmth and discretion.

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Human Resources is a requirement, or studying towards a Degree in Human Resources, Industrial Psychology or a related field, with expected completion in 2026 (preferred).
  • Matric (Grade 12) required.

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an HR/People Administration role.
  • A strong interest in building a long-term career in HR.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive, hands-on approach.
  • A friendly, people-oriented nature - someone who genuinely enjoys engaging with others.
  • A professional and composed demeanour, with a strong sense of neutrality and confidentiality.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, tech and operational environment.
  • Strong work ethics, flexible and prepared to go the extra mile.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Organisation & Time Management - Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to Detail - Takes pride in producing accurate, thorough work, particularly when managing employee records, trackers and documentation.
  • Communication - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently and professionally with employees, candidates and visitors at all levels.
  • Discretion & Confidentiality - Handles sensitive employee information and HR matters with the highest level of confidentiality, professionalism and integrity.
  • Interpersonal Skills - Warm, approachable and people-oriented, with the ability to make others feel welcome and at ease.
  • Professionalism & Composure - Maintains a calm, professional and composed manner, particularly when managing sensitive situations or interacting with visitors.
  • Technical Proficiency - Comfortable working with HRIS platforms, Microsoft Office and other digital tools and systems.
  • Initiative & Proactivity - Takes ownership of responsibilities, follows through on tasks and works independently with minimal supervision.
  • Teamwork & Collaboration - Works effectively with colleagues across the People function and contributes positively to the broader team environment.

Why join us?

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
