The posting

IMEG is hiring an Electrical Engineering New Grad in Raleigh, NC, to work closely with experienced engineers and consultants in delivering electrical engineering solutions for buildings. In this role, you will assist with the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of electrical systems while supporting project budgets, goals, and client expectations. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout project delivery.

Principal Responsibilities

• Assist with the design and analysis of electrical systems in accordance with code requirements and IMEG standards • Prepare detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools • Support client interactions by gathering project requirements and communicating technical information clearly • Build and maintain professional client relationships throughout project delivery • Contribute to project execution, including planning and scheduling support to help meet deadlines and objectives • Document design decisions, client instructions, and project progress • Analyze low- to medium-complexity engineering tasks and help develop practical, efficient solutions with senior engineers and consultants • Participate in IMEG quality control processes to help ensure designs meet IMEG standards, industry standards, and client requirements • Stay current on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices, and contribute to research and innovation efforts • Identify and help mitigate safety risks associated with electrical systems • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, architects, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions that meet project goals

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent required • Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred • Engineering in Training (EIT) or equivalent required • Engineering in Training (EIT) License preferred • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and concepts involved in the production of technical plans and specifications • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of principles relating to circuit theory, electromagnetism, power systems, and electronics as they relate to electrical systems design for buildings • Knowledge of industry standard engineering software and tools, including lighting photometric calculation software such as AGI, Elum Tools, Visual Lighting, or other; energy compliance software such as ComCheck; and familiar use of Adobe or Bluebeam Revu • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges • Basic knowledge in the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) software • Proficient with MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook • Ability to travel up to 5% with occasional overnight stays This position is not eligible for sponsorship.
