The ITD Finance and Human Capital Management Unit is seeking an experienced contractual Business Analyst to support ERP financial applications used for the Fund’s corporate finance, capacity development, and related corporate business processes.
The role will work with business and technology stakeholders to define requirements, analyze processes, support application enhancements, coordinate testing, and contribute to modernization initiatives, including responsible use of AI-enabled capabilities within governed enterprise processes.
The IMF relies heavily on PeopleSoft for these business processes; hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Financials or another major ERP platform is required.
The selected candidate must bring strong ERP business analysis experience, sound judgment, disciplined documentation practices, and the ability to work effectively across business, technology, governance, and vendor stakeholders.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
1) Elicit, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for ERP application enhancements.
2) Develop process flows, business rules, user stories, acceptance criteria, traceability, and related delivery artifacts.
3) Assess business needs, functional gaps, dependencies, risks, and operational impacts to support enhancement prioritization and solution decisions.
4) Support system, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing, including test scenarios, defect triage, and business validation.
5) Coordinate release-readiness activities, including approvals, deployment planning, communications, documentation, and post-implementation support.
6) Work with product owners, platform teams, architects, vendors, and business stakeholders to align solutions with approved requirements and enterprise standards.
7) Support Statements of Work, service-provider coordination, and vendor deliverables within the scope of assigned business analysis activities.
8) Identify opportunities to improve ERP-enabled processes through configuration, reporting, workflow optimization, automation, analytics, or appropriately governed AI-assisted capabilities.
9) Assess AI-enabled use cases for business value, data readiness, privacy, security, risk, controls, and human oversight.
10) Validate AI-generated outputs and process results against authoritative sources, approved business rules, and expected outcomes, escalating material limitations or risks as appropriate.
Minimum Qualifications
Advanced university degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, business administration, finance, or a related field, plus a minimum of four (4) years of relevant professional experience; or a bachelor’s degree in a related field plus a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrated business analysis experience supporting ERP financial or enterprise administrative applications.
- Hands-on experience with PeopleSoft Financials or a comparable enterprise ERP financials platform such as Oracle Fusion ERP, SAP, or Workday.
- Strong understanding of financial management or related corporate business processes, with the ability to translate process needs into ERP requirements and delivery artifacts.
- Proven ability to develop clear requirements, functional specifications, process documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, and traceability artifacts for ERP enhancements.
- Experience supporting ERP enhancement delivery, including intake, analysis, prioritization, testing, release readiness, deployment validation, and post-production support.
- Experience supporting system, integration, regression, defect-management, and user acceptance testing with business users.
- Working knowledge of ERP integrations, reporting, data flows, application security, and impacts on upstream and downstream systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively with business users, technical teams, vendors, and governance stakeholders.
- Sound judgment, strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently in a delivery-focused environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with PeopleSoft Financials or a comparable enterprise ERP financials platform in a central finance, payroll, grants, capacity development, or corporate-services environment.
- Experience supporting SaaS or on-premises enterprise applications in a complex, integrated technology environment.
- Familiarity with generative AI, copilots, intelligent automation, or analytics tools used to improve requirements analysis, documentation, testing, reporting, or user support.
- Understanding of Responsible AI concepts, including transparency, bias mitigation, data governance, auditability, and human oversight.
- Experience coordinating with external service providers, supporting Statements of Work, or monitoring vendor deliverables.
