The posting

Are you motivated by making green commercial investments across Africa, Asia, and Latin America?

Impact Fund Denmark is Denmark’s largest impact fund and is internationally recognized as a best-in-class impact investor. We manage our own private equity funds, debt capital, and concessional capital with a focus on creating sustainable businesses that deliver measurable social, economic and climate impact alongside solid financial returns.

We are strengthening our Green Energy and Infrastructure team and are looking for an Investment Professional to join us in our headquarters in Copenhagen. Depending on your experience, you may join us as Investment Analyst or Investment Manager.

Green Energy and Infrastructure invests in businesses and infrastructure that accelerate the green transition in emerging markets. Our investment focus spans renewable energy, circular economy, electric mobility, and water infrastructure. Through equity and debt investments, active ownership and strategic partnerships, we drive impact and value creation aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals. We typically invest between DKK 100-350 million per transaction.

You will be reporting to a Managing Director in Green Energy and Infrastructure and work closely with colleagues in Copenhagen and our regional offices across Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin America on investments throughout the investment lifecycle.

Investment Analyst

As an Investment Analyst, you will be a key analytical resource in transaction teams, focusing on commercial and financial analysis of investment opportunities.

You will:

  • Screen and analyse new investment proposals using Impact Fund Denmark’s tools and processes.
  • Assist in preparing investment papers, financial analyses and financial modelling.
  • Support due diligence, valuation and deal structuring.
  • Contribute to preparing and presenting investment recommendations and materials for the investment committee and board.
  • Collect and analyse commercial and financial data for deal teams.
  • Help maintain information systems for pipeline tracking and portfolio data.
  • Participate in networking activities to support investment sourcing and promotion.
  • Support project managers in active ownership and portfolio monitoring.
  • Ensure timely and accurate updates of systems with project documents, and financial and sustainability reporting.
  • Assist in assessing exit timing and support execution.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field, such as finance or economics with strong academic results.
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience from impact investing, private equity, M&A, corporate finance or consulting.
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis and valuation.
  • Skilled user of Excel and with an interest in and aptitude for financial modelling.
  • Detail-oriented with a structured working approach.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Curious to broaden your understanding of the world and keen to travel.

Investment Manager

As an Investment Manager, you will take the lead on many of the tasks performed by an Investment Analyst. You are thus expected to work independently, drive workstreams, and take ownership of parts of the investment process.

You will:

  • Screen and analyse new investment proposals using Impact Fund Denmark’s tools and processes.
  • Lead preparation of parts of investment papers, financial analyses and financial modelling with guidance from the project manager (Senior Investment Manager or Investment Director).
  • Support and lead due diligence, valuation and deal structuring workstreams.
  • Contribute to preparing and presenting investment recommendations and materials for the investment committee and board.
  • Lead the analysis of commercial and financial data for deal teams.
  • Take part in negotiating terms and drafting legal documentation.
  • Help maintain information systems for pipeline tracking and portfolio data.
  • Participate in networking activities to support investment sourcing and promotion.
  • Support project managers in active ownership and portfolio monitoring.
  • Assist in assessing exit timing and support exit negotiations and execution.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as finance or economics with strong academic results.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience from impact investing, private equity, M&A, corporate finance or consulting.
  • Independent mindset and experienced in owning and managing workstreams.
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis and valuation.
  • Expert user of Excel and with an interest in and aptitude for financial modelling.
  • Detail-oriented with a structured working approach.
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken).
  • Strong interpersonal skills and business judgment.
  • Curious to broaden your understanding of the world and keen to travel.
  • Experience in emerging markets and green energy is an advantage but not a prerequisite.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
