The posting

Zimbabwe Platinum Mines (Pvt) Limited (ZIMPLATS) is the largest platinum group metals producer in Zimbabwe. It owns and operates the Selous Metallurgical Complex (SMC), Ngezi Concentrator and the Ngezi Underground Mines

ROLE DESCRIPTION

This position will be part of the dynamic team based at SMC reporting to the Group Commercial Manager.

ROLE TITLE – Manager - Supply Chain Research & Contracts

JOB GRADING – D2

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics, or an equivalent Business Management qualification
  • Professional qualification such as full CILT/CIPS/CSCP/CLTD/CPSM/ is required
  • A minimum of five (5) years' relevant experience in end-to-end supply chain planning, contracts administration, and logistics within a mining, manufacturing, processing, or heavy industrial environment
  • Experience in maintenance planning and scheduling systems
  • Technical knowledge on and application of SCM & L Information Technology based systems and processes
  • A self-starter with strong communication, interpersonal, planning and leadership skills
  • Data analysis, problem-solving and critical thinking
  • Conduct deep-dive research into global supply markets, commodity pricing, and emerging logistics technologies (e.g., automation, AI) to guide strategic sourcing.
  • Research and assist develop predictive supply chain statistical models to forecast supply bottlenecks, map lead times, and optimize inventory levels.
  • Evaluate potential and existing vendors by researching financial health, production capacity, and sustainability practices to minimize supply risk.
  • Research, evaluate and propose various supply chain technology solutions for improved supply chain processes.
  • Investigate current supply chain operational workflows and utilize advanced analytics to design lean, cost-effective, and highly efficient supply chain methodologies.
  • Translate research and complex data into actionable presentations for executives, procurement, and supply chain program teams
  • Contracts administration, governance and vendor management
  • Produce management reports (monthly, quarterly, yearly), forecasts and budgets for Supply Chain
  • Promote adherence to the company's Business Management System, policies, and procedures.
