Inc42 Media is looking for a sharp and driven Correspondent to cover the fast-moving world of startups, tech, and business. If you are curious about how new-age tech companies are shaping the future and want to be the one telling those stories, this role is for you.

As a correspondent, you will report on the latest developments in the startup ecosystem, break down data and trends to explain what they mean for businesses and readers, build a strong network across founders, investors & industry leaders, and hone your skills with state-of-the-art digital tools.

Inc42 Media is looking for Correspondents/Journalists for Tech & Business News for the startup ecosystem. To sustain the power of journalism, we need to upgrade by networking across the industry early in your career. Understand data-analytics, as well as reader’s behavior. Primary Responsibilities

  • Cover stories across tech, business, and finance in the startup ecosystem.
  • Analyse data using sources such as DataLabs, MCA reports, RTIs, and secondary research.
  • Pitch newsworthy ideas to editors and build strong industry networks.
  • Enrich stories with data-driven value additions — infographics, analysis, or multimedia (audio, video, interviews).
  • Deliver exclusive stories that set the agenda.
  • Strengthen market presence by attending events and developing insider sources.
  • Build a strong professional presence on social media.

Annual KRA

  • Consistently publish data-backed stories with sharp insights.
  • Drive exclusivity and originality in reporting.
  • Add depth through innovative formats (charts, graphics, multimedia).
  • Establish Inc42’s authority by cultivating high-value sources and event presence.

Professional Traits

  • 3–5 years of experience in core journalism.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, or an equivalent field.
  • Strong fundamentals in reporting — nutgraf, lede, background, fact-checking.
  • Ability to structure news and features quickly and effectively.
  • Solid understanding of India’s startup and policy landscape to identify and pitch relevant stories.
  • Excellent command of written English with clarity and impact.
