About the Role
We're looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team and help build, manage, and improve our AWS cloud infrastructure.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work with a modern technology stack, take ownership of infrastructure improvements, automate processes, and collaborate with developers to keep our systems reliable, secure, and scalable.
We believe in working smarter through automation and AI-assisted engineering. You'll have opportunities to use tools such as Claude and other AI agents to streamline workflows, troubleshoot issues, and improve efficiency.
If you enjoy solving technical challenges, exploring new technologies, and making a real impact, we'd love to hear from you!
What You'll Be Doing
- AWS Infrastructure: Design, manage, and maintain our multi-account AWS environment, including cloud resources, networking, security, and access management.
- Infrastructure Automation: Develop and maintain Terraform configurations and Ansible playbooks to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
- Containers & Deployment: Manage Docker containers, ECS/EKS clusters, and Kubernetes deployments using Helm.
- CI/CD Pipelines: Build and maintain automated deployment pipelines using Jenkins, Serverless Framework, and related tools.
- Monitoring & Reliability: Monitor system health and performance using Grafana, Prometheus, CloudWatch, and OpenSearch. Troubleshoot incidents and implement long-term improvements.
- Networking & Security: Manage VPCs, routing, firewalls, DNS, IAM, and other security configurations to ensure secure and reliable operations.
- Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to optimize AWS resources, reduce unnecessary spending, and improve infrastructure efficiency.
- Collaboration & AI Tools: Work closely with developers to troubleshoot issues across different environments and leverage AI-assisted tools for automation, debugging, and code review.
- Incident & Operational Support: Participate in an on-call rotation (1 in 3 weeks), provide backup support for database administration, and occasionally assist with office IT systems, servers, and workstation setup.
- Documentation: Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and incident reports, and share knowledge with the team.
What We're Looking For
- At least 4 years of experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, or a similar role, preferably in production AWS environments.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud infrastructure and Terraform, including infrastructure provisioning, state management, and automation.
- Experience with Docker, container management, and troubleshooting.
- Experience using Ansible for configuration management and automation.
- Good knowledge of Linux administration, Bash scripting, and networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, VPC, DNS, firewalls, and routing.
- Experience managing EC2 instances and virtual machines.
- Hands-on experience with at least 3 AWS services, such as RDS/Aurora, ElastiCache, OpenSearch, DynamoDB, S3/CloudFront, API Gateway, or Lambda.
- Experience with Grafana, Prometheus, and CloudWatch for monitoring, dashboards, and alerting.
- Proficiency in Bash and at least one additional scripting language, preferably Python.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Good communication skills, a collaborative mindset, and a willingness to learn and share knowledge.
- Experience using AI-assisted engineering tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools, with the ability to review and verify AI-generated outputs.
Good to Have
- Experience with Kubernetes/EKS, Helm, and cluster management.
- Knowledge of multi-account AWS environments, AWS Organizations, and Control Tower.
- Experience with AWS cost optimization, including Reserved Instances and Savings Plans.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, security scanning, and IAM security.
- Experience with Serverless Framework, Bitbucket Pipelines, Kibana, or OpenSearch Dashboards.
- Basic database administration knowledge, including SQL queries, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Why Join Us?
- Make an Impact: Take ownership of infrastructure improvements that directly influence system reliability, performance, and efficiency.
- Modern Technology Stack: Work with AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, and modern monitoring tools.
- AI-Driven Engineering: Explore how AI-assisted tools can make engineering work more efficient and productive.
- Career Growth: Opportunities for mentoring, professional development, conference attendance, and progression to a Senior DevOps Engineer role.
- Collaborative Environment: Be part of an engineering team that values automation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.
- Hybrid Work Arrangement: Enjoy 2 work-from-home days per week.
- Structured On-Call Rotation: Participate in a planned rotation of approximately 1 in 3 weeks, with runbooks and escalation procedures.
