The posting

We’re looking for an Engineering Manager for the team that owns the home screen experience of the inDrive SuperApp. It’s the entry point to every service for millions of users worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Android, iOS, Flutter, backend (Go), frontend and QA engineers: hiring, onboarding, 1:1s, performance reviews and growth plans
  • Own delivery end to end: sprint planning and goals, mobile release trains and backend deploys, alignment with SuperApp and cluster goals
  • Work with product managers and designers on discovery: break epics down, surface technical limits early and link deliverables to product metrics
  • Own the quality of the home screen on Android and iOS: startup and render performance, crash-free rate, consistent widget behavior across platforms
  • Drive the migration of home screen widgets to the inDrive design system together with designers and the design system team
  • Own the architecture across client and server: the server-driven UI contract, caching and offline behavior, API design; write ADRs and take them through the Architecture Committee and AppSec reviews
  • Plan large technical changes as milestones that span mobile and backend releases
  • Run the A/B experiment pipeline from hypothesis to rollout together with product and analytics
  • Grow the layout platform as a product for other teams: widget ownership, self-service rules, clear boundaries with vertical and partner teams
  • Lead AI adoption in the team's development cycle

Our stack: native Android (Kotlin) and iOS (Swift) clients, Flutter, server-driven UI widgets, Go microservices, Kafka, DynamoDB.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • 2+ years managing an engineering team with direct reports, after working as a mobile tech lead or senior mobile engineer
  • Strong hands-on mobile background in Android or iOS: you can review designs and code and lead the implementation of complex scenarios
  • System design experience: you can design a feature end to end across client and backend, including API contracts, caching, data consistency and failure handling
  • Working knowledge of backend services: you can discuss service design with Go engineers and judge trade-offs between client and server logic
  • Experience shipping mobile apps at scale: release processes, staged rollouts, feature flags, crash and performance monitoring
  • Experience running delivery: planning, project tracking, risk management, postmortems
  • Experience working with product managers and designers on discovery and experiments
  • Ability to explain complex technical topics to engineers, product and business people, in writing and in person
  • Experience leading a team spread across countries and time zones
  • English at B2 or higher

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with server-driven UI or backend-driven screens in mobile apps
  • Experience building or adopting a design system in a mobile app
  • Experience with Flutter alongside native Android and iOS code
  • Experience in a super app or marketplace where many verticals share one surface
  • Experience building a platform whose services other teams use
  • Hands-on experience bringing AI tools into a team's development process

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
