ABOUT EXPERIENCE BY INDUSTRIOUS
CBRE is the world's largest commercial real estate services firm. Experience by Industrious is CBRE's global experience and hospitality business. We partner with leading companies and landlords to design and operate workplaces people love coming to. We treat the daily experience of work as a product worth obsessing over, and we build our teams with people who feel the same way.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The first thing someone experiences when they arrive at a building sets the tone for everything that follows. You're that first thing.
As a Lobby Ambassador, your job is to make arrivals and departures feel smooth, welcoming, and professional. You greet tenants by name, manage the visitor check-in process, answer questions about the building, and make sure the lobby always looks and feels the way it should.
This is a hospitality role grounded in consistency. The value you create isn't in occasional big moments — it's in showing up the same way every single day, so tenants know exactly what to expect when they walk through the door.
This is an in-person position that requires standing for extended periods of time.
WINNING IN THIS ROLE MEANS
• Every tenant is greeted by name. Every guest knows exactly where to go. Every arrival feels easy.
• The lobby is always clean, organized, and ready. Facilities and IT issues are escalated before anyone has to ask.
• Your reliability is a given. The team knows you'll be there, you'll be on, and things will be handled.
• Tenants trust you with their preferences and feedback because you've shown them you act on it.
• You're a positive presence in the building. People are glad to see you.
YOU'LL LOVE THIS ROLE AND SUCCEED AT IT IF
• Consistency feels like a strength, not a limitation. You take genuine pride in showing up the same way every day. The reliability you offer isn't boring to you — it's something you've built deliberately.
• You enjoy greeting people. Not as a performance, but as a real interaction. You like learning names, asking how things are going, and making someone's start to the day a little better.
• You notice things. When the lobby needs attention, when a guest looks confused, when a package is sitting unclaimed — you see it, and you take care of it.
• You're calm in busy environments. A busy morning, a complicated visitor check-in, an unexpected question — none of it rattles you. You've got a process and you trust it.
• Being on your feet works for you. You're not sitting behind a desk waiting for things to happen. You're present, engaged, and active throughout the day.
NOT THE RIGHT FIT IF
• You'd rather work behind the scenes than interact with people face-to-face throughout the day.
• You find daily repetition (greetings, check-ins, basic guest support) draining rather than grounding.
• Standing for long periods or moving between small tasks throughout a shift feels physically difficult.
• You're not comfortable taking ownership of lobby issues and seeing them through to resolution.
• You see hospitality as optional rather than the core of what this role is.
WHAT YOU OWN
Arrivals and front-of-house.
• Greet tenants by name every time they enter or leave the building.
• Manage the visitor system: pre-register guests, check them in, and guide them to their destinations.
• Keep the lobby clean and welcoming; report and escalate any facilities or IT issues.
• Act as the first point of contact for any activities or emergencies in the lobby.
Building knowledge.
• Learn and memorize building FAQs so you can confidently answer questions about the building, amenities, and nearby restaurants or services.
• Join daily standup meetings to prepare for expected events and arrivals.
• Help track tenant preferences as part of the tenant experience team.
Service culture.
• Always embody Industrious and landlord service values in every interaction.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE
We hire for skills over pedigree, but the strongest candidates will have:
• Experience. 1+ years in a customer-facing role.
• Customer-facing experience. You've worked in a role where you interacted with guests or customers daily and delivered consistent, quality service.
• Reliability. You show up on time, every time. The team depends on your consistency.
• Interpersonal warmth. You connect with people genuinely and make interactions feel human rather than transactional.
• Attention to detail. You notice what needs attention and take care of it without being prompted.
• Physical requirements. This role requires the ability to lift items up to 25 pounds and to stand and move throughout the shift for extended periods.
COMPENSATION
The hourly rate for this role is $23 – $25/hr, depending on experience.
