Job description

The Office to the CTO is a strategic partner role that amplifies the impact of the Chief Technology Officer and the IT Senior Leadership Team (SLT). Acting as a trusted advisor, operator, and integrator, you will help drive the delivery of the organisation’s technology vision, strengthen operational excellence, and ensure the IT function communicates, plans, and executes with clarity and cohesion.

This role blends strategic thinking, organisational insight, and hands‑on execution. You will support the CTO across planning, budgeting, staff communications, leadership forums, and team culture, while independently identifying bottlenecks, improving processes, and coordinating cross‑functional initiatives.

  • Significant experience as an Executive Assistant supporting senior technology leaders, operating as a trusted partner with strong judgement and discretion.
  • Deep familiarity with technology organisations, including engineering rhythms, IT operations, planning cycles, and cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, headcount processes, leadership communications, and operational workflows in a tech environment.
  • High proficiency with IT tools and platforms, such as Microsoft 365, collaboration tools, and basic analytics/reporting tools.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including preparing executive‑level presentations, reports, and staff communications.
  • High level of professionalism and executive presence, able to influence stakeholders, maintain confidentiality, and build trust quickly across teams.

You may be required to undertake other general duties / reasonable requests, as required by business needs, details of which will be provided to you at the time the duties / requests are required.

  • Identify inefficiencies and organisational bottlenecks, implementing improvements to processes, workflows, and cross‑team collaboration.
  • Lead or support small cross‑functional projects, ensuring clear scope, strong execution, and timely delivery of outcomes.
  • Produce high‑quality briefing materials, reports, and presentations for internal and external forums, and act as chair/executive producer for IT communication events.
  • Facilitation of IT leadership forums.
