The Performance Materials segment produces activated carbon products primarily used for automotive vapor emission control and for various purification applications. This position will interface with operations and business development to support existing products and manufacturing processes as well as the development of new products and processes for new markets. Duties of the position include helping to plan experiments, operating bench and pilot scale equipment, participating in plant trials, and documenting results. The ability to react quickly to changing project needs and work well within a team are critical aspects of the position.

How you will impact Ingevity:

  • Be part of a dynamic team that develops new products and processes involving carbon materials and innovative technologies.
  • Support plant expansion and process improvement efforts at our manufacturing facilities around the globe.
  • Generate and document critical data from bench scale and pilot plant experiments that lead to achieving product and process development goals.
  • Utilize creative thinking and “outside-the-box” problem solving to overcome challenges.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

What you’ll need to succeed in this role:

  • 5 years in a pilot scale lab or manufacturing environment; a technical associate’s or bachelor’s degree will be considered in lieu of experience
  • Experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation operation, maintenance, calibration/verification, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with mechanical work and pilot-scale equipment is required, including following protocols, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting
  • High standards for working safely, including proper storage, labeling, and use of chemicals, compliance with safe work practices and policies, and housekeeping.
  • Attention to detail, and high standards for data accuracy, organization and reporting.
  • Strong work ethic, initiative, and flexibility.
  • Strong analytical, observational, and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills to listen and respond to team members and internal customers, and to participate in cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to work respectfully and effectively within a diverse team.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally, depending on project needs.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
