This is a field-based role with travel to client sites across Ireland.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform testing, adjusting, and balancing (TAB) of HVAC systems including air and hydronic systems.
  • Verify and document airflow and water flow to design specifications.
  • Conduct system performance assessments including airflow, static pressure, pre-commissioning, commissionability studies, and water flow measurements.
  • Identify and troubleshoot system performance issues, providing recommendations for corrective action.
  • Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to verify design and installation compliance.
  • Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and commissioning teams to resolve technical issues.
  • Conduct site inspections and audits pre- and post-installation.
  • Prepare accurate TAB records and final balancing reports in line with project requirements and standards (e.g., CIBSE Code A, BSRIA, NEBB).
  • Use TAB equipment such as manometers, anemometers, flow hoods, and pressure gauges.
  • Maintain calibration of instruments and ensure tools are in proper working condition.
  • Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with site H&S policies, HSE regulations, and relevant standards.
  • Support commissioning activities and functional performance testing.

Requirements

Essential

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years experience in HVAC testing, commissioning, or balancing (TAB).
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems and schematics (AHUs, FCUs, VAVs, pumps, chillers, boilers).
  • Proficiency in using TAB tools and instruments.
  • Engineering qualification or certification by CIBSE preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • Proficient in reading HVAC drawings, schematics, and specifications.
  • Full clean driving licence (role requires travel to multiple sites).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.

Desirable

  • TAB certification from a recognised body (NEBB, AABC, BSRIA, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS/BAS) and control strategies.
  • Experience in mission-critical environments such as cleanrooms, data centres, labs, or healthcare.
  • Proficiency with balancing instruments (Shortridge, TSI).
  • Experience with air tightness testing or cleanroom certification.
  • IOSH or Safe Pass certification.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior engineers or technicians.

Working Conditions

  • Field-based role with regular travel to client sites nationwide.
  • May involve occasional out-of-hours or weekend work depending on project requirements.
  • Full PPE and specialised equipment provided.

Whats on Offer

  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Opportunities for professional certification and career growth.
  • Exposure to leading-edge projects across data centres, healthcare, and life sciences.
  • Supportive team environment with scope for progression.
  • Company vehicle and travel expenses (where applicable).

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
