ABOUT INSCRIBE

At Inscribe, we're on a mission to catch fraud with confidence. In 2017, we set out to build the first document fraud detection product. Today, we process millions of applications each year and work with many of the leading fintechs and banks across the U.S. We believe the game of cat-and-mouse in fraud requires a fundamentally new approach. With care for our customers, attention to detail, and grounded execution, we’re reimagining how fraud is detected and prevented.

Inscribe is trusted by leading banks and fintechs, including Coinbase, Plaid, Bluevine, and Ramp. Inscribe is backed by Threshold Ventures, Uncork Capital, Y Combinator, Crosslink Capital, and Foundry, and is headquartered in San Francisco, CA.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a detail-oriented, customer-focused Risk Operations Analyst to join our team. You will be responsible for monitoring, assessing and improving fraud detection on behalf of our customers. You will also have the opportunity to recommend and implement best practices to detect and prevent fraud. This role requires a self-starter with strong analytical skills and a passion for fighting fraud.

This is a hybrid role, working 2 days from our office near Stephen's Green in Dublin and 3 days from home.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Investigate high-risk accounts, documents and transactions to identify fraud such as fake or synthetic identities, account takeover and document forgery

- Analyse large datasets to detect patterns, trends and anomalies, including retrospective analysis to uncover new fraud patterns and new ways of catching fraud

- Use fraud detection software and tools to strengthen our monitoring and investigations

- Run regular check-ins with customers on risk, performance and the reasoning behind our decisions

- Prepare clear reports for leadership and customers on fraud incidents, findings and recommended improvements and generate activity reports for internal reviews and customer check-ins

- Work closely with Product and Engineering to turn your findings into better rules, tooling and detection systems

- Respond quickly as new fraud trends and incidents emerge, adjusting priorities alongside the team

- Help design and scale the processes, workflows and automation that keep our risk operations efficient as we grow

- Spot gaps in our systems, policies and detection strategies and work with stakeholders across the business to recommend and deliver improvements that address emerging risks

- Contribute to ad hoc cross-functional projects that strengthen our fraud prevention strategies

ABOUT YOU

- 3+ years of experience in fraud, risk operations, trust & safety, a related investigative field or equivalent experience

- Hands-on SQL for investigations and analysis alongside other data tools (e.g., Excel, Google Workspace)

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with sound judgment on ambiguous cases

- Experience working across teams, ideally with Product or Engineering and explaining complex findings simply

- Comfortable speaking and presenting to customers and leadership

- Able to work independently as well as part of a team, and to prioritise multiple tasks and change direction in a very fast-paced environment

- Takes ownership and brings energy and urgency to solving problems, with a willingness to dig deep to find the answer

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Familiarity with risk management frameworks and relevant standards

- Experience with fraud and risk tools

- Fintech, payments, marketplace or startup experience is a plus

- Experience improving or automating workflows is a plus

INTERVIEW PROCESS

1. Initial Screen with the Hiring Manager to share your experience (30 minutes)

2. Check In Call with HR to understand and align on your motivations and expectations (30 minutes)

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
