The Opportunity

Wagonmaster Group is seeking an energetic, relationship-driven Business Developer to grow our automotive dealership business across a protected territory in Pierce and/or King County, Washington. This is a field-based, B2B outside-sales opportunity for a professional who enjoys opening doors, earning long-term client trust, demonstrating value in person, and helping automotive dealerships improve customer retention, service-department profitability, and preventative-maintenance adoption.

About Wagonmaster Group

Wagonmaster Group operates three companies in Canada and one in the United States as authorized distributors of BG Products. We help automotive dealerships, fleets, and service operations build profitable preventative-maintenance programs through high-quality products, practical business consulting, and world-class training. Our business is built on lasting partnerships, consistent execution, and helping customers achieve measurable results. Many Wagonmaster team members have built rewarding careers with the organization for 10 years or more—reflecting the strength of our culture, opportunity for growth, and the long-term value of the relationships we create.

What You’ll Do

  • Build, manage, and grow long-term relationships with automotive dealership clients throughout Pierce and/or King County.
  • Prospect for new business through strategic outreach, cold calling, networking, referrals, and in-person dealership visits.
  • Present Wagonmaster’s preventative-maintenance products, programs, training, and business solutions to dealership decision-makers.
  • Conduct hands-on product demonstrations and deliver engaging business presentations.
  • Train dealership service, sales, and fixed-operations teams on product knowledge, program implementation, and customer-value communication.
  • Help clients develop and implement profitable customer-retention and preventative-maintenance programs.
  • Identify dealership needs, uncover growth opportunities, and provide practical, consultative recommendations.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline, manage territory activity, and consistently work toward revenue and customer-growth targets.
  • Represent Wagonmaster Group with professionalism, integrity, accountability, and a strong commitment to customer service.
  • Stay current on dealership operations, industry trends, and the evolving needs of automotive service departments.

What We Offer

  • Structured onboarding and hands-on field training.
  • Ongoing professional sales training and development.
  • A collaborative culture that recognizes performance, individual growth, initiative, and creativity.
  • The freedom to bring forward innovative, outside-the-box business-development strategies.
  • A protected territory with exclusive products, programs, and customer-growth solutions.
  • Base salary plus an uncapped, performance-based commission and bonus plan.
  • Vehicle allowance, mileage reimbursement, and comprehensive benefits.
  • Estimated first-year earnings of $70,000–$90,000, with opportunity to exceed this range based on relevant industry experience, established dealership relationships, qualifications, and performance.
  • Strong long-term earning potential as your territory and client base mature.

The compensation range listed reflects a good-faith estimate in accordance with Washington State pay-transparency requirements. Final compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s experience, qualifications, industry relationships, and demonstrated performance potential.

What You Bring

We are looking for a sales professional who combines drive with credibility and understands that sustainable results come from earning trust over time.

  • Proven experience in B2B outside sales, business development, account management, or consultative selling.
  • A strong track record of prospecting, developing new business, and managing customer relationships.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and follow-up skills.
  • High integrity, personal accountability, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset.
  • Passion, drive, resilience, and the ability to remain motivated while working independently in the field.
  • Humble confidence—the ability to lead conversations, ask thoughtful questions, and learn continuously.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and a willingness to pursue innovative business-development approaches.
  • A genuine commitment to personal and professional growth.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly throughout the assigned territory.
  • A valid driver’s licence and a driving record suitable for business travel.

Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive dealership, fixed operations, service-lane, aftermarket, fleet, or automotive-industry experience.
  • Existing relationships within automotive dealerships in Pierce County, King County, or the broader Washington market.
  • Familiarity with dealership-management or fixed-operations software, including CDK, R&R, or Dealertrack.
  • Experience delivering product demonstrations, facilitating staff training, or implementing dealership sales and retention programs.

Join Wagonmaster Group

At Wagonmaster Group, you will have the opportunity to represent respected automotive-maintenance solutions, build a territory with long-term earning potential, and grow your career alongside a team that values integrity, performance, and enduring partnerships.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
