The posting

Intangibles Talent builds dedicated, high performing teams in Mexico for Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firms across the U.S. and Canada. We place you full time with one client as a long term member of their team, with structured onboarding and mentorship behind you. This role supports a U.S. General Contractor running multiple concurrent projects.

About the role

You will own the finance function and the administrative operations for a U.S. General Contractor. On the finance side you run the day to day accounting and the monthly close and reporting. On the operations side you oversee administrative processes and support HR operations, from employee records and onboarding logistics to payroll coordination and benefits administration. Construction experience is preferred. Where there are gaps, we provide mentorship from a senior construction accounting specialist.

Must have

  • 2+ years in accounting, finance, or administrative management with full ownership of the accounting cycle
  • Strong command of general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, journal entries, reconciliations, and month end close
  • Payroll coordination and job cost allocation experience
  • Experience with HR administration and back office operations
  • Advanced Excel
  • English B2 or higher, written and spoken
  • High ownership, able to work independently on U.S. business hours
  • Proven discretion handling confidential financial and personal data
  • Strong attention to detail and process orientation

Preferred

  • Construction accounting experience, including job costing, project budgets, retainage, and WIP
  • QuickBooks Online proficiency
  • Procore
  • Certified payroll, LCP Tracker, and prevailing wage compliance
  • Familiarity with lien waivers, insurance certificates, and bonding requirements

Finance, what you will own

  • General ledger and accurate financial records
  • Accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Daily vendor and subcontractor invoice entry in QuickBooks Online and Procore
  • Journal entries, reconciliations, and month end close
  • Payroll coordination and labor cost allocation across projects
  • Weekly QuickBooks to Procore cost reconciliation
  • Project pay application uploads
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Cash flow forecasting and budget versus actual variance analysis
  • Coordination with the CPA firm on reporting and statements
  • Fixed asset register and loan documentation

Operations and HR, what you will oversee

  • Administrative processes and back office coordination
  • Employee records, onboarding and offboarding logistics, and PTO tracking
  • Payroll and benefits administration support
  • Vendor and account documentation and compliance filings
  • Audit support and supporting documentation
  • Process improvements to keep the back office efficient and organized
