Company Description

At Zelora, we make home electrification simpler and more affordable. Backed by Bunnings and powered by Intellihub, our Australian-first subscription model for Solar & Battery helps households take control of their energy without the hassle, high stakes or big upfront cost.

We’re a young brand with strong backing and a clear ambition - become the name Australians turn to when they’re ready to electrify with solar, battery and everything else. That means our team is small, entrepeneurial, fast-moving and close to the work. Every person has real ownership of what we build and how we grow, whilst being supported by a positive, safe and productive workplace to thrive in.

We’re building a business, brand and culture from the ground up – and helping Australians confidently make the switch to renewable energy along the way.

Job Description

Join Zelora as a Lead Electrician and take the lead on residential solar PV and battery installations across Sydney, with occasional regional NSW travel.

You’ll be hands-on, leading installations from site preparation through to testing, commissioning and customer handover, while guiding trade assistants and, as the team grows, apprentices.

This is also a customer-facing role. You’ll conduct site assessments, explain technical requirements in straightforward terms and ensure customers feel confident in their new system.

As Zelora grows, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape our installation and safety practices, develop your team and progress into broader technical or leadership roles.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and carry out residential solar PV and battery installations, testing, commissioning and system configuration.
  • Plan jobs with engineering and coordination teams, reviewing designs, site requirements, materials and access.
  • Validate designs on site and recommend practical amendments to optimise system performance and compliance.
  • Lead and coach trade assistants and provide supervision and mentoring to apprentices as the team grows.
  • Lead site safety, including pre-starts, risk assessments, toolbox talks and working-at-heights controls.
  • Conduct customer site assessments and provide technical guidance throughout the sales and installation journey.
  • Act as the main on-site contact for customers and deliver clear system handovers.
  • Diagnose faults and complete servicing, maintenance and warranty rectification work.
  • Complete electrical compliance, SAA, testing, commissioning and job documentation.
  • Help improve installation methods, safety practices and team capability as Zelora grows.

Qualifications

What you’ll bring

  • Extensive hands-on experience installing and commissioning residential solar PV and battery systems.
  • Proven experience leading residential installation crews.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical, solar and battery standards, network requirements and safe work practices.
  • Excellent fault-finding and practical problem-solving skills.
  • A strong customer focus and the ability to explain technical information clearly.
  • Extensive knowledge of WHS, electrical safety and working-at-heights requirements.
  • Experience developing site-specific working-at-heights plans and implementing appropriate fall-prevention controls.
  • A commitment to high-quality workmanship, safety and customer experience.
  • Willingness to work on roofs, outdoors and travel across Sydney, with occasional regional NSW work.

Essential licences & accreditation

You’ll need to hold:

  • Current NSW Electrical Qualified Supervisor Certificate or endorsed Electrical Contractor Licence (Q).
  • Current Solar Accreditation Australia (SAA) accreditation for:Grid-connected solar PV (GCPV); and Grid-connected battery storage (GCBS).
  • Current NSW-valid driver licence.
  • Construction Induction White Card.
  • Current Working Safely at Heights training.

Asbestos Awareness, First Aid and CPR are also required, but Zelora can arrange these during onboarding if needed.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
