About Interim HealthCare of Maine
Founded in 1966, Interim HealthCare is the nation's first home care company — and one of the most trusted names in Medicare-certified home health, hospice, and personal care services. Operating through 300+ offices nationwide, our Maine office serves patients across Androscoggin, Oxford, and surrounding counties.
We partner with physicians, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities (ALFs), discharge planners, and case managers to deliver seamless, patient-centered care. We are growing — and we need a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Representative to expand our referral network and drive census growth across our Maine territory.
The Opportunity
Are you a relationship-builder who thrives in healthcare sales? Do you know how to open doors at skilled nursing facilities, build trust with hospital discharge planners, and grow a referral network that drives real census growth?
As our Home Health BDR, you will own a defined sales territory, build referral relationships across the Maine healthcare continuum, and convert those relationships into consistent, high-quality referrals that help more patients receive care at home.
What You'll Do
Referral Development & Territory Management
- Build and maintain a robust referral network with physicians, hospitalists, hospital discharge planners, case managers, social workers, SNFs, ALFs, and rehab centers across Maine
- Identify, qualify, and prioritize high-value referral accounts; develop tailored strategies to penetrate new accounts and grow existing relationships
- Conduct regular in-person sales calls, lunch-and-learns, and community education presentations to increase Interim HealthCare's visibility and referral volume
- Respond quickly to new referral opportunities and serve as a liaison between referral sources and our clinical operations team
Sales Strategy & Census Growth
- Create and execute a territory business plan with clear targets for new account acquisition and home health census growth
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations on Interim HealthCare's Medicare-certified home health, hospice, and personal care services
- Track all prospecting, account development, and referral activity in CRM software (Salesforce or equivalent)
- Report weekly on pipeline activity, referral trends, and territory performance metrics
Community Partnership & Clinical Collaboration
- Partner with clinical managers to monitor service quality and ensure referral sources feel confident in the care their patients receive
- Attend community health events, healthcare association meetings, and networking functions
- Stay current on Medicare home health eligibility, state regulations, and competitive dynamics in the Maine home health market
