Independent Financial Adviser – Malaysia

Join a Leading International Wealth Management Firm

Our client, a respected international wealth management firm with an established global presence, is expanding its advisory team in Malaysia and is seeking experienced Independent Financial Advisers to join its growing business.

This opportunity is ideally suited to advisers with experience advising UK, European and international expatriate clients, who are looking to take their career to the next level within a highly regarded international organisation.

The role offers the opportunity to build a successful international advisory career while benefiting from a sophisticated global infrastructure, comprehensive operational support and access to an extensive range of wealth management solutions.

Advisers with an existing client portfolio or transferable client relationships are highly desirable, although this is preferred rather than essential. Strong business development skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships are equally valued.

The Opportunity

As an Independent Financial Adviser, you will provide holistic financial planning and wealth management advice to expatriate and internationally mobile clients, helping them achieve their long-term financial objectives through tailored financial strategies.

You will work with clients across a broad range of financial planning areas, including:

  • Investment Planning
  • Retirement & Pension Planning
  • Wealth Preservation
  • Protection Planning
  • Estate & Legacy Planning
  • International Financial Planning
  • Long-Term Wealth Management

This is a relationship-driven advisory role where professionalism, integrity and exceptional client service are fundamental to success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with high-value international and expatriate clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial reviews to understand clients' objectives, circumstances and future aspirations.
  • Design and implement bespoke financial planning strategies tailored to individual client needs.
  • Deliver ongoing reviews and proactively adapt financial plans as clients' circumstances evolve.
  • Build new business through networking, referrals and personal business development activities.
  • Maintain detailed client records and deliver advice in line with regulatory and compliance standards.
  • Stay informed on market developments, legislation, investment trends and financial planning strategies.
  • Represent the business professionally while delivering an outstanding client experience.

Candidate Requirements

Our client is seeking ambitious advisers who can demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Financial Adviser, Wealth Manager or Financial Planner.
  • Experience advising UK, European or international expatriate clients is highly advantageous.
  • Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent) is preferred, or candidates should be committed to achieving this industry benchmark.
  • A proven track record of delivering quality financial advice and building lasting client relationships.
  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and business development capability.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity and self-motivation.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using CRM and financial planning systems.
  • Fluent spoken and written business English.
  • An existing client portfolio or transferable assets under management (AUM) would be advantageous but are not essential.
