Our client, a respected international wealth management firm, is continuing its expansion across Portugal and is seeking experienced Independent Financial Advisers to join its growing European advisory team.

This opportunity is ideal for advisers with experience advising expatriates, internationally mobile professionals, high-net-worth individuals and cross-border clients who are looking to develop a long-term career within a modern, client-centric wealth management business.

Operating within a MiFID-regulated European framework, advisers benefit from the strength of a fully compliant European platform while providing holistic financial planning solutions to clients throughout Portugal and across Europe.

Advisers with an existing client portfolio or transferable relationships are highly desirable, although this is preferred rather than essential. Strong business development skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships are equally valued.

The Opportunity

As an Independent Financial Adviser, you will provide holistic financial planning and wealth management advice to expatriate and internationally mobile clients throughout Portugal.

You will work with clients across a wide range of financial planning disciplines, including:

  • Investment Planning
  • Retirement & Pension Planning
  • Wealth Preservation
  • Estate & Legacy Planning
  • Protection Planning
  • Tax-Efficient Wealth Structuring
  • Cross-Border Financial Planning
  • Long-Term Investment Management

Working within a MiFID regulatory environment, you will deliver compliant, high-quality advice while helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with expatriate and international clients.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial reviews and understand clients' personal and financial objectives.
  • Design and implement bespoke financial planning and investment strategies.
  • Deliver ongoing reviews and adapt financial plans as clients' circumstances evolve.
  • Generate new business through networking, referrals and professional relationship management.
  • Ensure all advice is delivered in accordance with MiFID regulations and internal compliance standards.
  • Stay informed on European investment markets, legislation and financial planning developments.
  • Deliver exceptional levels of professionalism, ethics and client service.

Candidate Requirements

Our client is seeking ambitious advisers who can demonstrate:

  • A minimum of 3 years' experience as a Financial Adviser, Wealth Manager or Financial Planner.
  • Experience advising expatriate, international or cross-border clients.
  • Level 4 Diploma (or equivalent) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of European financial planning and MiFID regulations is highly advantageous.
  • A proven track record of delivering holistic financial advice.
  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship management skills.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and business development capability.
  • High levels of professionalism, integrity and self-motivation.
  • Strong IT skills and experience using CRM and financial planning systems.
  • Fluent English is essential. Portuguese and other European languages would be advantageous.
  • An existing client portfolio or transferable assets under management (AUM) would be advantageous but are not essential.
