Regional Manager | International Wealth Management | Durban | Leadership Opportunity

Location: Durban, South Africa

Our client, a highly respected international wealth management firm, is seeking an experienced Regional Manager to lead and grow its Durban operation.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a proven leader with a strong background in wealth management, financial planning and business development. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving regional growth, developing a high-performing advisory team, and ensuring exceptional client outcomes while contributing to the firm's long-term strategic objectives.

This role combines leadership, coaching, recruitment, business development and client relationship management, making it ideal for an ambitious individual looking to take the next step in their executive career.

The Opportunity

As Regional Manager, you'll play a pivotal role in the continued expansion of the business, supporting advisers to achieve their potential while growing the regional client base and maintaining the highest standards of advice and regulatory compliance.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of Wealth Managers and Financial Advisers
  • Recruiting, onboarding and coaching high-performing financial professionals
  • Driving regional business growth through strategic planning and business development initiatives
  • Supporting advisers with complex client cases and wealth management strategies
  • Building and maintaining relationships with high-net-worth individuals, professional introducers and strategic partners
  • Monitoring individual and regional performance against agreed objectives and KPIs
  • Promoting a culture of professionalism, collaboration and outstanding client service
  • Ensuring all advice is delivered in line with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards
  • Working closely with senior leadership to implement regional growth strategies
  • Representing the business at networking events, client functions and industry forums

About You

The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in Wealth Management, Financial Planning or Private Banking
  • Previous leadership or management experience within a financial services environment
  • A strong track record of coaching, developing and motivating successful advisory teams
  • Excellent business development and relationship management skills
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and sophisticated clients
  • Strong commercial awareness with the ability to drive sustainable business growth
  • Excellent communication, leadership and presentation skills
  • Relevant financial planning qualifications and a commitment to ongoing professional development
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for developing both people and business performance
