The posting

Role Summary

The IFS Finance Systems & Reporting Specialist will provide offshore functional support to the Finance team in the implementation, enhancement and ongoing operation of IFS Cloud Finance. The role will work closely with Group Finance, local finance teams and IT to translate agreed finance requirements into system configuration, reporting solutions, testing and process documentation. The successful candidate will have practical ERP experience, preferably with IFS Cloud, together with a strong understanding of finance processes and financial reporting. This is a hands-on delivery and support role; ownership of Group Finance policy, controls and statutory compliance will remain with the relevant Finance stakeholders.

Working Arrangements

This is a hybrid role, with the successful candidate expected to work across both home and the designated offshore office in accordance with the agreed working arrangements.

The role will normally follow local working hours, but flexibility will be required from time to time to work UK business hours to support key implementation activities, workshops, month-end requirements, go-live support and the resolution of priority issues.

Key Responsibilities

IFS Finance Configuration and Support

  • Support the configuration and maintenance of IFS Cloud Finance modules.
  • Implement approved changes to the chart of accounts, financial dimensions, posting controls, tax codes, approval workflows and reporting hierarchies.
  • Investigate finance system issues and work with Finance, IT and external IFS specialists to resolve them.
  • Maintain configuration records and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure system changes follow agreed Finance governance and change-control processes.
  • Support consistent finance configuration across entities in accordance with approved Group standards.
  • Support the configuration of tax structures, VAT/GST rules and local statutory reporting requirements across multiple jurisdictions.

Finance Reporting

  • Develop and maintain financial and management reports from IFS.
  • Support month-end reporting, balance-sheet reconciliations, management information and Group reporting requirements.
  • Work with Finance stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and convert them into practical system reports.
  • Validate report outputs against IFS source data and investigate discrepancies.
  • Support reporting tools connected to IFS, including Power BI, Excel and IFS reporting tools.
  • Help reduce manual spreadsheet-based reporting through improved system reporting and automation.

Implementation and Entity Onboarding

  • Support IFS Finance implementation and rollout activities for newly established and acquired entities and new geographies.
  • Assist with finance master-data preparation, mapping and migration.
  • Support opening-balance uploads and reconciliation.
  • Prepare test scripts, execute testing and document results.
  • Support cutover, go-live and post-go-live issue resolution.
  • Reconcile migrated balances and master data between source systems and IFS, investigating and resolving differences before go-live.
  • Escalate design, control and policy decisions to the appropriate Group Finance owner.

Finance Master Data and Governance Support

  • Maintain approved Finance master data, including the chart of accounts, dimensions, tax structures and reporting hierarchies.
  • Perform data-quality checks and support the resolution of master-data issues.
  • Provide system reports, configuration records and supporting evidence for audit and compliance activities.
  • Apply agreed Group Finance policies and configuration standards, escalating policy or accounting judgements to the relevant Finance stakeholder.

Testing, Documentation and User Support

  • Prepare and execute UAT scripts for finance processes and reports.
  • Record, track and retest defects through to resolution.
  • Produce process documentation, configuration records and user guides.
  • Deliver system demonstrations, training and knowledge-transfer sessions.
  • Provide day-to-day functional support to Finance users and escalate technical issues where required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to simplify, automate and standardize finance processes.
  • Analyse recurring issues and recommend practical improvements using IFS capabilities.
  • Support improvements to data quality, reporting integrity, financial controls and month-end efficiency.
  • Assist the Finance team with agreed IFS improvement and implementation projects.

Requirements

Essential Experience

  • Practical experience supporting or implementing an ERP finance system.
  • Hands-on IFS Cloud Finance experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of core finance processes, including GL, AP, AR, fixed assets, cash management and financial reporting.
  • Experience configuring or supporting charts of accounts, dimensions, posting rules, tax codes and finance master data.
  • Experience producing financial and management reports from ERP data.
  • Knowledge of IFS reporting functionality, Power BI, Excel or comparable reporting tools.
  • Experience with data migration, reconciliations, UAT and defect resolution.
  • Ability to translate finance requirements into practical system configurations and reports.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to data accuracy.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to support stakeholders remotely.

Preferred Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems or a related discipline.
  • Part-qualified or qualified accountant, such as ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA or equivalent.
  • Experience supporting a UK-headquartered or multinational finance function from an offshore delivery center.
  • Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency environments, including the onboarding of new legal entities.
  • Familiarity with month-end close, consolidation and Group management reporting.
  • Experience using SQL or other data-query tools would be advantageous.

Success Measures

  • IFS improvement, implementation and entity-onboarding activities are completed accurately and within agreed timelines.
  • Approved finance configurations and master data are implemented consistently and accurately.
  • Financial and management reports are accurate, reliable and aligned with agreed Finance requirements.
  • UAT, defect resolution, documentation and user support are completed to an agreed standard.
  • Manual activities are reduced through practical standardisation, improved reporting and automation.
  • Finance users receive responsive support and effective knowledge transfer.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
