The posting

Intuit is looking for a Director of Software Engineering who will own data infrastructure, including the event bus, streaming, Kafka, and data cataloguing systems that powers product infrastructure across QuickBooks, TurboTax, and Intuit Enterprise Suite. Our products bring together a rich data environment that enables us to solve meaningful problems for consumers and businesses. As Director of Software Engineering, Data Platform Infrastructure, you will shape the platforms that make data accessible, reliable and actionable at scale, expanding what our teams can build as Intuit advances its AI-native strategy. This is an opportunity to lead a talented engineering organization and turn platform innovation into impact across Intuit's products.

Responsibilities

• Full ownership of the data infrastructure stack: event bus, streaming, Kafka, storage databases, and multi-catalogue systems serving product teams (not backend ERP). • Drive transformation across the organization — establishing operational excellence, incident management discipline, and process rigor as the team scales. • Evolve the infrastructure roadmap to support Intuit's AI transformation, ensuring the platform can scale with AI-native workloads. • Build a world-class team — deepening organizational bench strength and succession depth at every level of leadership. • Manage and develop a team that includes strong existing talent, while continuing to raise the bar on capability across the broader org. • Partner cross-functionally with product and platform leaders across QuickBooks, TurboTax, and Intuit Enterprise Suite to align infrastructure priorities with product roadmaps.

Qualifications

• +18 years experience in software engineering and +7 years leading a high performing engineering team. • Deep technical fluency in streaming architectures, Kafka, event bus design, storage databases, and data catalogue systems at scale. • A proven operator, not just a strategist — comfortable being in the details on incidents, uptime, and day-to-day execution while also setting long-term direction. • A track record of leading transformation in infrastructure organizations — instilling process discipline and operational excellence at scale. • Strong people leadership: experience building teams and benches from a thin starting point, developing high-potential talent, and raising the executive presence of direct reports. • Executive presence and the gravitas to represent data infrastructure strategy to VP, SVP, and CTO-level stakeholders. • Background from a large-scale, infrastructure-intensive technology environment. • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field required, Master Degree preferred.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
