The posting

We are looking for an MS SQL Engineer to join our team and design, develop and maintain data solutions on an on-premises Microsoft SQL Server environment. The role focuses on SQL development and SSIS-based ETL processes that support critical business operations.

You will work closely with data, development and business teams to ensure reliable, well-performing and well-documented data pipelines. The position is open to both medior and senior engineers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain SSIS packages and ETL processes
  • Write and optimise T-SQL code, including stored procedures, functions, views and triggers
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and tune the performance of SQL Server databases and ETL jobs
  • Design and maintain data models and database structures
  • Ensure data quality, integrity and consistency across systems
  • Schedule, deploy and support ETL jobs in an on-premises environment
  • Analyse and resolve production issues and perform root cause analysis
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts and business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements
  • Document solutions and contribute to best practices and code reviews

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience as an MS SQL / ETL Engineer or Developer (5+ years for senior level)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
  • Solid experience designing and developing SSIS packages
  • Experience with query optimisation and performance tuning
  • Good understanding of ETL principles, data warehousing and data modelling
  • Experience working in on-premises environments
  • Familiarity with version control and deployment practices for database and ETL code
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent debugging and troubleshooting abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and a structured way of working
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience with SSRS and/or SSAS
  • Experience with SQL Server Agent and job scheduling
  • Experience with CI/CD for database and ETL deployments
  • Experience in the financial services sector
  • Microsoft certifications in data or SQL Server
