Job Description

Job Summary

We are a leading independent investment management firm, seeking a globally minded Generative AI Developer to join the Investment Data Layer Team. In this role, you will build reusable AI platform components and integrate GenAI solutions across enterprise data and business applications to drive value in Investments and Investment Risk. You will lead the design and implementation of a common semantic layer to improve data accessibility and consistency, and develop AI agents that support investment research, portfolio management, risk analysis, and distribution workflows. Collaborating closely with Investments, Research, Cloud, and technology teams, you will deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable AI solutions aligned with Invesco’s investment strategy. The role emphasizes AI governance, observability, Spec-Driven Development, and continuous innovation. Candidates should have strong software engineering experience, hands-on expertise with generative and agentic AI, enterprise architecture, and integration patterns, preferably within financial services, and familiarity with AI platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, and Microsoft. This position offers a unique opportunity to advance AI innovation in investment management.

Key Responsibilities / Duties

• Collaborate with global business partners and stakeholders to understand requirements for Generative AI solutions within investment and risk domains. • Design, develop, and deploy reusable AI platform components and AI agents that enhance investment research, portfolio management, risk analysis, and distribution workflows. • Integrate Generative AI capabilities into existing enterprise data platforms and business applications to automate analytics workflows and improve data quality. • Lead the design and implementation of semantic layers, including semantic models, taxonomies, and metadata frameworks, to ensure consistent and accessible data foundations for AI solutions. • Innovate by evaluating and experimenting with emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and tools to drive continuous improvement and technical excellence. • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Investments, Research, Cloud, and Engineering to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable AI solutions aligned with business goals. • Develop and maintain AI governance, observability, evaluation, and safety controls to ensure production readiness and compliance. • Contribute to Spec-Driven Development practices and leverage AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and software quality. • Participate in technical analysis, unit testing, quality assurance, and system implementation following Agile methodologies. • Prepare documentation, support user acceptance testing, and enable ongoing support and maintenance of AI systems. • Handle escalations and participate in on-call rotations to support AI platform operations.

WORK EXPERIENCE / KNOWLEDGE:

  • 6-8 years of Technology experience with 3-4 years of Demonstrable GenAI experience
  • Experience within asset management, wealth management, investment management, research, trading, risk, or financial services.
  • Experience developing semantic models, knowledge layers, metadata frameworks, or business taxonomies.
  • Experience building enterprise AI agents and AI-enabled workflow solutions.
  • Experience implementing AI governance, evaluation, and observability capabilities.
  • Experience operating across Snowflake, AWS, and Microsoft AI ecosystems.

SKILLS / OTHER PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:

  • Strong software engineering experience with demonstrated delivery of enterprise applications.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing Generative AI, agentic AI, or machine learning solutions.
  • Experience working with modern AI frameworks, orchestration platforms, and large language models.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise application architecture and integration patterns.
  • Experience working directly with business stakeholders to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Passion for continuous learning and applying emerging technologies.

FORMAL EDUCATION: (minimum requirement to perform job duties)

  • Bachelors / Masters in Computer Science or other similar advanced degrees from a top tier educational institution preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Normal office environment with a little exposure to noise, dust and temperatures.
  • Work hours will be from 11:30AM to 8:30 PM IST and may include evenings and/or weekends
  • Carry the on-call phone on a rotation basis.
