Join a collaborative engineering team focused on modernizing access to critical government data and digital services. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM solutions and secure, scalable APIs that connect enterprise systems. You will contribute to the full software development lifecycle, from architecture and implementation to testing, deployment, and production support. Working in a small, hands-on technical team, you will collaborate with engineering leads, architects, QA specialists, and stakeholders to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions. Your work will help improve system interoperability, strengthen security, and enhance access to essential services. This opportunity combines modern software engineering practices, cloud technologies, and AI-assisted development within a mission-driven federal IT environment.

Accountabilities:

  • CRM Development and Customization: Design, develop, and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM solutions, including C#/.NET plugins, workflows, and system configurations.
  • Backend Development and Data Management: Build and maintain SQL Server data structures that support CRM functionality, performance, and reliability.
  • API Development and Integration: Develop and optimize RESTful APIs connecting CRM platforms with VA.gov and other enterprise systems, ensuring secure data exchange, interoperability, and backward compatibility.
  • Cloud Engineering and Deployment: Support application hosting and deployment in Azure environments, contributing to scalable and reliable software solutions.
  • Code Quality and DevSecOps: Maintain high engineering standards through code reviews, secure coding practices, CI/CD pipeline improvements, and GitHub Actions automation.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA engineers to expand automated testing coverage and validate CRM integrations and API functionality.
  • Production Support and Maintenance: Investigate and resolve production issues, monitor application reliability, and maintain compliance with applicable federal security requirements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Track Microsoft Dynamics 365 release updates and implement relevant improvements to maintain system performance and functionality.
  • Technical Documentation and Collaboration: Produce clear technical documentation, engage with stakeholders, and align engineering decisions with program objectives.
  • Agile Delivery and AI-Assisted Development: Participate in Scrum ceremonies, contribute to iterative delivery, and use AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot to support code generation, refactoring, testing, and documentation while applying sound engineering judgment.
  • Professional Experience: At least 5 years of software engineering experience, with a focus on full-stack development and delivering production-ready applications.
  • Dynamics 365 and .NET Expertise: Hands-on experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, C#, .NET development, plugins, workflows, and customizations.
  • Database Management: Strong experience with SQL Server and backend data modeling and management.
  • Frontend Development: Proficiency in ReactJS and TypeScript for frontend enhancements and system integrations.
  • API and Integration Skills: Strong understanding of RESTful API design, enterprise integrations, secure data exchange, and system interoperability.
  • Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with Microsoft Azure environments, including application hosting and deployment.
  • CI/CD and DevSecOps: Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and secure development practices, including GitHub Actions, code scanning, and containerization.
  • Federal IT Experience: Direct experience supporting Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) projects and prior involvement in federal IT programs with security, compliance, and operational requirements.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working within Agile/Scrum teams, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
  • AI Development Tools: Comfort using AI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot for code generation, refactoring, automated test creation, and documentation, with the ability to recognize their limitations and guide responsible team adoption.
  • Preferred Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, application security principles, and secure software development practices.
  • Federal Compliance Experience: Experience operating services under a continuous Authority to Operate (cATO) framework or a similar federal compliance model is an advantage.
  • Complex Program Delivery: Previous experience working within multi-vendor federal programs is preferred.
  • Clearance: Must be able to obtain and maintain Public Trust clearance or higher, including completion of the required background investigation.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Strong problem-solving, stakeholder engagement, documentation, and teamwork skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Competitive Compensation: Annual salary range of $140,000–$150,000, with final compensation determined by skills, experience, and the scope of responsibilities.
  • Bonus Opportunities: Competitive compensation package with performance-based bonus opportunities.
  • Comprehensive Healthcare: Medical, dental, and vision coverage, with a significant portion of premiums subsidized by the employer.
  • Health Reimbursement Support: Employer contributions to a Health Reimbursement Account for eligible employees enrolled in qualifying high-deductible health plans.
  • Healthcare Concierge: Access to personalized assistance with understanding coverage, finding providers, scheduling care, and resolving billing or claims concerns.
  • Retirement Savings: 401(k) plan with employer matching contributions of 100% on the first 3% contributed and 50% on the fourth and fifth percent, with immediate plan entry and vesting.
  • Paid Time Off: 20 days of PTO accrued per calendar year, plus 11 paid holidays.
  • Additional Leave: Bereavement, jury duty, parental leave (including maternity, paternity, and adoption), and military leave.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
