Ironcore Construction | California – Assigned Project Site
Salary: $135,000 Annually + $7,500 Project Bonus
BUILD HOMES. LEAD TEAMS. CREATE COMMUNITY.
Ironcore Construction is growing, and we're looking for a motivated Assistant Superintendent ready to take ownership, lead field operations, and help deliver exceptional multifamily construction projects.
This isn't a role where you'll simply follow a Superintendent around. You'll independently manage assigned trades, project phases, and field operations while partnering with an experienced construction leadership team.
If you're passionate about construction, take pride in getting things done right, and want to grow your career with a company that values leadership and accountability, we want to meet you!
WHO WE ARE
Ironcore Construction is a California general contractor specializing in multifamily residential and affordable housing construction.
We're building more than homes. We're creating communities, strengthening relationships, and developing construction professionals who take pride in their work.
Our six core values guide everything we do:
Integrity | Vision | People | Safety | Innovation | Continuous Improvement
THE OPPORTUNITY
As an Assistant Superintendent, you'll work alongside the Superintendent to lead daily field operations, coordinate subcontractors, maintain project schedules, and ensure work meets Ironcore's standards for safety and quality.
You'll have real ownership of assigned areas, phases, and trades, with the authority to make day-to-day field decisions within your responsibilities.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Lead daily field operations across assigned project areas, phases, and trades.
- Direct subcontractors, coordinate manpower, and manage trade sequencing.
- Resolve field conflicts, logistical challenges, and construction issues.
- Develop and execute short-term schedules and look-ahead plans.
- Conduct site walks and drive accountability for quality and progress.
- Coordinate inspections, corrections, and code compliance.
- Enforce jobsite safety standards and address unsafe conditions.
- Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and project changes.
- Maintain accurate field documentation and project updates in Procore.
- Identify schedule risks, scope gaps, and potential cost impacts.
- Support subcontractor progress verification and change documentation.
- Lead punch-list completion, final inspections, and project closeout.
Requirements
WHAT YOU BRING
- 2+ years of progressively responsible multifamily or comparable commercial construction experience, or equivalent education and training.
- Experience coordinating subcontractors, inspections, field logistics, and construction sequencing.
- Ability to independently manage assigned trades, phases, or areas of construction.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, safety, quality control, and scheduling.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents.
- OSHA 30 certification required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to use Procore and other construction technology.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- A proactive mindset with the confidence to make decisions and hold teams accountable.
Multifamily construction experience is strongly preferred.
