Job Summary

You will engage customers by understanding their needs, provide product advice, handle sales transactions, maintain store presentation, manage inventory, and ensure compliance with safety and security policies.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and identify their needs to provide tailored product recommendations
  • Operate POS systems to process cash and card payments accurately and efficiently
  • Handle product returns and exchanges while maintaining customer satisfaction
  • Drive individual and store sales targets through effective customer engagement
  • Keep shelves stocked and maintain visual merchandising standards to enhance the shopping experience
  • Maintain a clean and organized store floor to ensure a safe and welcoming environment
  • Receive and inspect new stock deliveries for accuracy and quality
  • Conduct regular stocktakes and report low-stock or damaged items promptly
  • Follow security protocols and loss-prevention guidelines to protect store assets
  • Adhere to health and safety rules to maintain a safe workplace for staff and customers
  • Stand or walk for extended periods and assist with moving and stocking merchandise as needed

Required competencies and certifications

  • Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing
  • Familiarity with POS software to operate sales systems effectively

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Education at GCE 'O' Level, 'N' Level, or secondary school level
  • Prior retail experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage customers and team members
  • Ability to work retail shift hours, including weekends, evenings, and public holidays
  • Physical stamina to perform duties involving standing, walking, and merchandise handling
