Summary of Duties and Responsibilities: The Department of Veterinary Pathology at Iowa State University is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to support interdisciplinary research focused on prion biology, transmissible spongiform encephalopathies, and disease-associated protein misfolding. The successful candidate will contribute to the development, optimization, and evaluation of innovative methods for the isolation, recovery, and detection of disease-associated proteins in complex biological samples.

This position involves designing and conducting laboratory experiments, developing antibody-based and biochemical assays, evaluating protein capture and detection approaches, and analyzing quantitative research data. • Research experience in protein biochemistry, immunological assays, or related molecular and cellular laboratory methods.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with prion biology, transmissible spongiform encephalopathies, or other protein misfolding disorders.
  • Experience developing, optimizing, or validating immunoassays and other protein detection methods.
  • Experience with protein purification, affinity capture, magnetic bead methods, or related biochemical techniques.
  • Experience working with infectious materials under established biosafety procedures.
  • Record of peer-reviewed publications and effective interdisciplinary collaboration.

Department/Program & College Description: Veterinary pathology provides a critical link between the basic and clinical sciences. Our faculty fill essential roles in teaching veterinary and graduate students, diagnosis of animal diseases, and scientific research.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
