Deze rol biedt een unieke combinatie van engineeringdiepgang en innovatie. Je helpt AI-oplossingen evolueren van prototype naar schaalbare productieomgevingen met zichtbare impact op kernprocessen zoals schadebeheer, fraude en underwriting. Je krijgt de kans om zowel MLOps/Aiops verder uit te bouwen als technisch richting te geven aan agentic oplossingen, en je bouwt mee aan het fundament waarop we AI de komende jaren verder uitrollen. Je krijgt autonomie om mee technische standaarden en best practices vorm te geven.

Als AI Engineer maak je deel uit van het AI-team en rapporteer je aan de Team Lead. Je werkt vanuit Antwerpen in een Agile team aan het betrouwbaar, schaalbaar en veilig in productie brengen van AI-oplossingen.

Verantwoordelijkheden

  • In deze rol combineer je diepgaande expertise in Aiops/MLOps met technisch leiderschap rond agentic automation. Je werkt zelfstandig en bent het technische aanspreekpunt voor het team
  • Je bent eigenaar van het volledige traject: samen met de business vertaal je een concreet probleem naar een oplossing die in productie draait en gebruikt wordt
  • Je begeleidt data scientists bij het uitrollen van modellen naar productieomgevingen en zorgt ervoor dat AI-oplossingen voldoen aan hoge kwaliteits-, security- en governancevereisten
  • Je ontwerpt en bouwt betrouwbare data- en inference- pijplijnen, implementeert CI/CD-processen en zet observability op via logging, monitoring, alerts en driftdetectie. Daarnaast werk je samen met Security, Risk & Compliance om AI-oplossingen compliant by design te ontwikkelen
  • Je neemt een leidende rol op in de ontwikkeling van agentic oplossingen. Van proof of value tot productie ontwerp en bouw je performante oplossingen die veilig integreren met interne systemen via API's, tool use/function calling, RAG en robuuste orkestratiepatronen
  • Je definieert evaluatie- en testkaders (inclusief red teaming en guardrails), voert code reviews uit en helpt best practices binnen het team te verankeren. Je werkt zelf AI-first en bouwt mee aan herbruikbare componenten en standaarden
  • Naast de technische realisatie adviseer je Product Owner en Domein Product Manager over architectuurkeuzes, risico's, haalbaarheid en sequencing. Je challenget designs van externe deliverypartners en voorkomt losse PoC's en shadow AI
  • Je draagt mee bij aan AI-governance, documentatie, standaarden en de verdere uitbouw van AI-literacy binnen de organisatie. Daarbij werk je nauw samen met architectuur, IT, data scientists en externe deliverypartners

Verwachtingen

  • Breng AI van experiment naar productie en maak het verschil in onze kernprocessen
  • Neem het voortouw in de ontwikkeling van veilige, performante en schaalbare agentic oplossingen
  • Werk samen met data scientists, architecten en IT-experts aan de volgende generatie AI-oplossingen
  • Minstens 6 jaar ervaring in software- of data-engineering, waarvan minstens 3 jaar als AI/ML Engineer, MLOps Engineer of in een vergelijkbare functie, met AI-oplossingen die je zelf in productie bracht
  • Ervaring als technisch lead met bijdragen aan architectuurkeuzes, het uitvoeren van code reviews en het coachen van collega's
  • Sterke kennis van Aiops/MLOps, CI/CD, Azure DevOps, GIT, Docker, containers, Kubernetes en Infrastructure as Code (TerraForm)
  • Ervaring met model registries, feature stores, experiment tracking, monitoring, alerting en data- en inferencepijplijnen
  • Sterke Python-kennis en solide software engineering-praktijken (testing, clean code)
  • Ervaring met Azure ML, Azure Openai, AI Foundry, Azure AI Search, Fabric, Jfrog/ACR en AKS
  • Kennis van agentic frameworks, RAG, Copilot Studio, dspy, tool use/function calling en semantic caching
  • Kennis van security, governance, RBAC, secrets management, data privacy en de EU AI Act is een sterke troef
  • Kennis van Microsoft Fabric & DB / Vector DB
  • Communicatief sterk, coachende houding, pragmatisch en resultaatgericht; je durft knopen door te hakken en legt technische keuzes helder uit aan niet-technische collega's
  • Verzekeringskennis is een voordeel voor de uitvoering van de job
  • Talen: Nederlands en Engels, met basiskennis van Frans
