About the Role

As a C4W+ Employment Mentor, you'll manage a caseload of participants and provide tailored one-to-one support designed to improve employment prospects and long-term outcomes.

You'll help individuals identify realistic career goals, improve their CVs and job-search skills, access training opportunities, prepare for interviews, and overcome practical barriers that may be preventing them from entering or returning to employment.

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing personalised action plans with clear and achievable employment objectives
  • Providing regular one-to-one mentoring and coaching
  • Supporting participants with CV writing, job applications, and cover letters
  • Helping individuals improve interview techniques and workplace confidence
  • Supporting job-search activity and identifying suitable employment opportunities
  • Helping participants access education, training, qualifications, and skills development
  • Providing advice on employment pathways and career progression
  • Supporting individuals who face multiple or complex barriers to employment
  • Helping participants improve motivation, confidence, and work readiness
  • Referring participants to specialist services where additional support is required
  • Working with employers, training providers, community organisations, and partner agencies
  • Building relationships with local employers to identify suitable vacancies and opportunities
  • Supporting participants through recruitment processes
  • Providing in-work support where appropriate to help sustain employment
  • Monitoring participant progress against agreed goals and outcomes
  • Maintaining accurate case records and evidence of interventions
  • Recording outcomes and updating relevant systems in line with programme requirements
  • Supporting the achievement of programme performance targets
  • Promoting equality, inclusion, and accessibility across employment support services
  • Maintaining confidentiality and professional boundaries
  • Contributing to team meetings, performance reviews, and service improvement activity

Requirements

We're looking for a motivated, supportive, and organised employment professional with strong communication skills and experience helping individuals progress towards work.

You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience in employment support, employability, careers advice, mentoring, or welfare-to-work
  • Experience managing a participant or customer caseload
  • Experience developing personalised action plans
  • Experience providing one-to-one coaching or mentoring
  • Strong knowledge of job-search techniques and recruitment processes
  • Experience supporting CV writing, applications, and interview preparation
  • Experience working with individuals who face barriers to employment
  • Ability to motivate and engage participants
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build positive and professional relationships
  • Experience working with employers, training providers, or community partners
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and competing priorities
  • Good written communication and record-keeping skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working to performance targets and programme outcomes
  • Knowledge of local employment, skills, and training opportunities would be advantageous
  • Experience within local government, third sector, or funded employability programmes would be advantageous
  • Eligibility to work in the UK

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.

The numbers game

What if my background isn't good enough?

We make the most of the background you have. The CV uses every piece of relevant proof your profile holds, and one of the 25 readers reads your whole profile and flags what the CV left out.

Do you really apply for me?

Yes, on the employer's own form, the hardest ones included. Where a question needs you, you answer it right there and AI suggests the best answer. Don't want us applying from our IP addresses? Use our Chrome extension: we apply straight from your own browser.

Is it a subscription?

No. You pay once per CV, from $25. Every application goes out with its own CV, written for that posting.
