The posting

Contract to start ASAP until 12-12-26 with a possible extension.

RESPONSIBILITIES

To work as part of a team providing the full range of children's centre services including, reception cover, delivering activities, liaising with partners, reporting issues/concerns and covering for staff as directed by management

To plan for specified activities that aim to improve outcomes for young children and their families in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

To provide a warm reception to all centre users, offering information, advice and assistance to ensure that users are able to access relevant support services and information. Ensuring that the emotional and physical environment is positive and informative for all users.

To deliver effective outreach to encourage the take up of children's centres services, particularly by those families that are identified as requiring additional support./ in most need, working with partners including health services, schools, PVI's and voluntary groups to ensure collective promotion of the children's centre programme.

To use observation and assessment skills along with knowledge of child development to identify children and families who may require additional support.

To escalate concerns about families needs in accordance with local protocol and guidelines, making full use of referral pathways and early help services

Lead and support the delivery of a range of groups that support child development, parents and child interaction and early attachment, as part of the early intervention agenda.

These groups or activities may be delivered in the centres or in the home (based on an previous assessment and delivered in accordance with the family/child plan)

Ensure children are safeguarded, both within every day practices, and by referring those children who require additional support or are at risk, working within the guidelines of the Merton Well-being Model.
