  • Responding to reports of anti-social behaviour, gathering information, assessing concerns and referring matters through the appropriate housing, community safety or police channels. stoke.gov.uk
  • Supporting early intervention on rent arrears, contacting residents experiencing payment difficulties and helping identify support that can prevent problems escalating. This aligns with the council's published approach to tenancy sustainment and income recovery. stoke.gov.uk
  • Helping residents access housing account information, including rent balances, statements and payment options through the council's online services. stoke.gov.uk
  • Liaising with relevant teams about repairs and maintenance concerns, helping residents reach the appropriate service. stoke.gov.uk
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential case records, documenting contact, agreed actions and outstanding issues.
  • Recognising and escalating safeguarding or welfare concerns, following service procedures and seeking specialist guidance where needed.
  • Managing visits and casework responsibly, following agreed safety arrangements and maintaining professional boundaries.

Requirements

We're looking for an organised, empathetic and solutions-focused individual who can build constructive relationships with residents and provide a responsive housing service.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience in social housing or a relevant housing management role.
  • Knowledge of tenancy and estate management.
  • Experience visiting, interviewing and advising residents.
  • Ability to handle sensitive or challenging situations calmly and professionally.
  • Confidence working independently and managing priorities. These criteria reflect the council's published Level 8 recruitment information. webrecruitment.stoke.gov.uk
  • Good IT and record-keeping skills, including confidence maintaining electronic case information.
  • A professional approach to confidentiality, with the judgement to recognise concerns and seek advice.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK and the ability to provide employment references and complete the required pre-employment checks.

Why Apply

  • Opportunity to make a positive difference to residents and their neighbourhoods.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
