You'll work closely with leaseholders, housing teams, finance colleagues, repairs and maintenance teams, legal services, and other stakeholders to ensure enquiries are resolved accurately, efficiently, and in line with relevant legislation and Council procedures.

About the Role

As a Leasehold Advisor, you'll provide first-class advice and case management support to leaseholders, helping them understand their rights, responsibilities, charges, and the services provided under their lease.

You'll manage a varied workload of enquiries and cases, maintain accurate records, and work across teams to resolve complex issues relating to service charges, repairs, major works, and lease conditions.

What you'll be doing:

  • Providing advice and guidance to leaseholders on a wide range of leasehold matters
  • Responding to enquiries relating to service charges, invoices, statements, and account balances
  • Explaining lease terms, rights, responsibilities, and obligations clearly and professionally
  • Supporting leaseholders with queries relating to major works and planned maintenance
  • Reviewing leasehold accounts and investigating discrepancies or disputed charges
  • Working closely with finance and service charge teams to resolve account queries
  • Liaising with repairs, maintenance, asset management, and property teams on leaseholder issues
  • Managing correspondence and casework from initial enquiry through to resolution
  • Maintaining accurate records of leaseholder interactions and actions taken
  • Providing information on payment options and arrears where appropriate
  • Supporting the recovery of outstanding leasehold charges in line with Council procedures
  • Helping resolve complaints and escalated leaseholder concerns
  • Providing clear explanations of major works costs and consultation processes
  • Supporting Section 20 consultation activity where required
  • Working with legal teams on lease interpretation and complex cases
  • Ensuring leasehold administration complies with relevant legislation and policies
  • Providing professional customer service across telephone, email, written, and face-to-face channels
  • Identifying recurring issues and supporting service improvement activity
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to provide coordinated responses
  • Managing a high-volume workload while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
  • Handling sensitive financial and personal information in accordance with data protection requirements

Requirements

We're looking for customer-focused, organised, and knowledgeable housing professionals with experience in leasehold services or a related housing environment.

You'll ideally have:

  • Experience working in leasehold services, housing management, property services, or a similar environment
  • Knowledge of residential leases and leaseholder responsibilities
  • Experience dealing with service charge enquiries
  • Understanding of major works and Section 20 consultation processes
  • Experience handling leaseholder complaints and complex enquiries
  • Experience managing housing or property-related casework
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to explain complex financial or legal information clearly
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Good numerical ability and attention to detail
  • Experience investigating account discrepancies or disputed charges
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Experience using housing, property, finance, or CRM systems
  • Good understanding of confidentiality and data protection
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Local authority or social housing experience would be advantageous
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
  • Ability to provide three years of references/work history

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
