JOB SUMMARY

As a Master Planner at Jabil, you'll have the opportunity to influence how customer demand translates into successful manufacturing execution. From balancing materials and capacity to optimizing production schedules and managing product transitions, your work will have a direct impact on customer delivery and operational performance.

If you're an experienced planning professional who enjoys solving complex supply and demand challenges, collaborating across functions, and helping teams stay ahead of changing requirements, this role provides an opportunity to make an impact while continuing to grow your career with Jabil.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Production & Master Planning

  • Develop and maintain the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on customer demand, material availability, capacity, and production requirements.
  • Load and maintain the MPS within Jabil's ERP system, including appropriate customer Purchase Order (PO) coverage.
  • Ensure the MPS remains accurate, achievable, and aligned with current customer demand and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Reconcile the MPS against customer PO coverage on a weekly basis to help prevent production or material commitments beyond authorized customer demand.
  • Drive achievement of MPS performance goals, including the established 95% MPS target.
  • Establish and maintain build readiness to support production schedules and customer delivery requirements.
  • Own production planning activities and support BOM and document control requirements for the assigned workcell.
  • Partner with manufacturing teams daily to assess production performance and adjust schedules as appropriate.
  • Optimize production quantities and sequencing to minimize changeovers and support efficient manufacturing operations.
  • Drive planning activities that support the goal of 100% on-time delivery.

Material & Demand Management

  • Analyze customer demand, material availability, and capacity requirements and communicate potential constraints to Workcell leadership and appropriate stakeholders.
  • Maintain effective control of materials and potential customer or company liability.
  • Ensure production is supported by valid customer demand, adequate material availability, accurate Bills of Material (BOMs), and appropriate routings.
  • Maintain awareness of applicable customer contract terms related to material planning, production scheduling, liability windows, component purchasing, and in-house inventory.
  • Maintain accurate revenue forecasts based on current production schedules and customer requirements.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify material shortages, planning gaps, or demand changes and drive appropriate resolution.

Capacity Planning & Operational Performance

  • Maintain the workcell's capacity planning model and evaluate current and future capacity requirements.
  • Identify uneven or constrained capacity utilization and partner with cross-functional teams to develop appropriate solutions.
  • Balance customer priorities with effective utilization of manufacturing resources.
  • Maintain appropriate capacity and customer sizing to support efficient operations and future demand.
  • Understand internal production rates, manufacturing lead times, test requirements, machine programming requirements, and other factors affecting product build schedules.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen planning accuracy, efficiency, and operational performance.

BOM & Document Control

  • Lead planning activities associated with the creation and maintenance of Bills of Material and manufacturing routings.
  • Help ensure BOMs and routings support accurate Work-in-Process (WIP) tracking and inventory transactions.
  • Partner with Production Planners and Document Coordinators to maintain accurate documentation and planning information.
  • Serve as the workcell planning subject matter expert and provide guidance and mentorship on planning processes, tools, and requirements.

End-of-Life Management

  • Coordinate End-of-Life (EOL) planning activities to support an effective transition as products approach their final planned production dates.
  • Lead EOL planning meetings approximately 30 days prior to the planned final build to establish actions, responsibilities, and timelines.
  • Own the EOL build schedule and ensure the MPS remains aligned with authorized customer demand.
  • Coordinate timelines for assemblies moving through manufacturing work areas and establish requirements for final production and shipment.
  • Support development of plans for potential Return Material Authorizations (RMAs) following final production.
  • Manage applicable internal workcell purge processes and coordinate appropriate disposition activities.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as the primary planning resource for the assigned workcell, providing expertise and guidance on scheduling, materials, capacity, and customer demand.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Materials, Supply Chain, Workcell leadership, and other cross-functional teams to identify and resolve planning constraints.
  • Mentor Production Planners and Document Coordinators and support their development in planning processes and best practices.
  • Clearly communicate risks, constraints, priorities, and schedule changes to appropriate stakeholders.
  • Drive timely resolution of planning issues that could impact customer delivery, material exposure, or manufacturing performance.

Compliance & Safety

  • Follow all applicable safety, health, environmental, and quality requirements.
  • Comply with company procedures, security policies, and established business controls.
  • Maintain accurate planning information and documentation in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
