Janux Therapeutics is seeking a seasoned and strategic Vice President of Investor Relations & Corporate Communications to lead the company’s external engagement across the investment community, media, and broader public audiences. This role is instrumental in shaping Janux’s corporate narrative and ensuring transparent, consistent, and impactful communication of the company’s scientific progress, financial performance, and strategic priorities, supporting long-term value creation.
The incumbent will report directly to the Chief Corporate and Business Development Officer, and collaborate closely with the CEO, Legal, and other senior stakeholders. The Vice President will serve as a key advisor to executive leadership and the Board on investor sentiment, shareholder communications, market positioning, and sensitive public-facing decisions. This role demands a seasoned communicator with deep capital markets expertise, a sophisticated understanding of the biotech landscape, and the ability to translate complex scientific and business developments into compelling narratives that resonate with diverse external audiences.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive investor relations and corporate communications strategy aligned with Janux’s mission, pipeline priorities, business objectives, and long-term value creation.
- Shape Janux’s corporate narrative, brand identity, positioning, and messaging frameworks to strengthen the company’s visibility, credibility, and reputation across key stakeholders.
- Build and cultivate strong relationships with institutional investors, analysts, and banking partners, serving as the primary point of contact for the investment community.
- Lead investor engagement and targeting activities, including conferences, non-deal roadshows, R&D/Analyst Days, KOL webinars, analyst meetings, and other investor events.
- Develop and execute shareholder targeting and ownership strategies designed to attract and retain long-term institutional investors aligned with Janux's investment thesis.
- Prepare senior leadership for investor conferences, non-deal roadshows, and other high-profile investor interactions, including leadership of key message development, FAQs, Q&A documents, briefing materials, and response frameworks to ensure consistency across investor-facing engagements.
- Oversee investor-facing and public communications, including earnings materials, investor presentations, scripts, press releases, website content, talking points, and executive briefing materials.
- Lead communications planning and support execution around key clinical and regulatory milestones, corporate transactions, partnerships, and financing activities.
- Manage an integrated communications calendar and agenda that coordinates investor, media, corporate, and internal communications and enables proactive planning.
- Serve as one of the company's designated external representatives to the investment community and media, representing Janux with clarity and credibility and consistent with the company’s disclosure policies and communication protocols.
- Monitor investor sentiment, stock performance, analyst commentary and coverage, peer performance, and capital markets trends; synthesize insights to inform company strategy and messaging.
- Track sell-side models and compare them with internal forecasts to anticipate market expectations and strengthen external communications.
- Partner with Legal and Finance to support consistency, accuracy, and compliance across external communications and public disclosures, including earnings communications, investor materials, SEC disclosures, Reg FD requirements, disclosure policies and material event communications.
- Provide strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership and the Board regarding market positioning, investor perceptions, shareholder communications, and reputational risk.
- Partner closely with Finance and Legal to support earnings preparation, disclosure governance, financing activities, and public-company communication best practices.
- Partner cross-functionally with Clinical, Project Management, Regulatory, HR, Finance, and Legal to ensure communications are accurate, coordinated, and appropriate for each audience.
- Lead external IR and communications agencies and consultants, including scope, budgets, performance oversight, and program measurement.
- Other duties as deemed necessary.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Biology, Communications, or related field; advanced degree (MBA, PhD, or MS) preferred.
- Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive leadership experience in investor relations and/or corporate communications within the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or life sciences industry, including substantial leadership experience.
- Significant oncology experience required, with demonstrated experience supporting innovative therapeutic platforms and complex modalities such as T-cell engagers (TCEs), bispecific antibodies, CAR-T/cell therapies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), or other advanced biologics. Autoimmune experience highly preferred.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific and business developments into clear, compelling narratives.
- Strong understanding of capital markets, investor behavior, and biotech valuation drivers.
- Deep knowledge of SEC regulations, Reg FD, disclosure obligations, corporate governance practices, and IR best practices.
- Established relationships with key investors, analysts, and media in the healthcare/life sciences space.
- Experience with IR and communications platforms and tools, as well as managing external agencies, budgets, and performance measurement.
- Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, science-driven environment.
- Strong ability to influence and partner with cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders, with executive presence and demonstrated ability to counsel senior leaders.
- Experience building or significantly developing investor relations and corporate communications capabilities, infrastructure, and best practices.
- Experience supporting publicly traded biotechnology companies through significant clinical, regulatory, corporate development, and financing milestones.
- Strong writing and editorial judgment across scientific, corporate, investor, media, and employee audiences.
- High level of integrity and commitment to ethical standards.
