The posting

Jasara Program Management Company (Jasara PMC) is a leading Joint Venture between Public Investment Fund (PIF), Jacobs, and Saudi Aramco, established to deliver world-class program management services across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Jasara plays a key role in supporting the realization of Saudi Vision 2030, particularly in delivering giga-projects and large-scale infrastructure developments.

We are seeking a Senior Design Manager - MEP (Electrical) to join JASARA PMC. The Senior Design Manager – MEP (Electrical) oversees consultant-led electrical and power system design activities across all project stages, ensuring compliance with requirements, approved design briefs, Scopes of Work (SOW), applicable electrical standards, and authority regulations.

The role provides technical leadership and design governance for all electrical engineering disciplines, including power distribution, low voltage (LV) systems, medium voltage (MV) interfaces, substations, switchgear, emergency power systems, ELV integration, and smart city infrastructure. The position ensures electrical designs are coordinated with architectural, structural, mechanical, infrastructure, and specialist disciplines to deliver safe, reliable, efficient, and construction-ready solutions.

The Senior Design Manager does not undertake detailed design production but is responsible for reviewing, guiding, and assuring the quality, coordination, compliance, and deliverability of consultant design outputs while supporting the Design Director in technical assurance, cost alignment, value engineering, and delivery readiness.

Design Leadership & Governance

  • Oversee, coordinate, and monitor all electrical and power system design activities throughout concept, schematic, detailed design, and construction documentation stages.
  • Lead design governance processes related to electrical engineering, including design reviews, technical compliance reviews, change management, and stage-gate approvals.
  • Ensure all electrical designs comply with standards, Saudi Building Code, SEC requirements, IEC standards, NFPA standards, and applicable international best practices.
  • Establish and maintain electrical design standards, specifications, and technical guidelines across the project portfolio.

Consultant Management

  • Manage electrical, MEP, and multidisciplinary consultants, ensuring compliance with approved design briefs, SOWs, project requirements, and quality standards.
  • Review and challenge consultant submissions to ensure optimum technical solutions, operational efficiency, maintainability, and lifecycle value.
  • Monitor consultant performance, deliverable quality, programme adherence, and technical compliance.
  • Participate in consultant selection, technical evaluations, and procurement activities.

Electrical Systems Oversight

  • Provide technical oversight for the design and integration of:
  • Medium Voltage (MV) Infrastructure
  • Low Voltage (LV) Distribution Systems
  • LV Switchgear and Main Distribution Boards
  • Substations and Electrical Rooms
  • Emergency and Backup Power Systems
  • UPS Systems
  • Generator Systems
  • Earthing and Lightning Protection
  • External Power Networks
  • Street Lighting Systems
  • Smart City Electrical Infrastructure
  • ELV Interfaces and Building Technologies

Multidisciplinary Coordination

  • Act as the primary electrical design interface across all disciplines.
  • Ensure electrical requirements are fully integrated with architectural, structural, mechanical, ICT, security, transportation, and utility infrastructure designs.
  • Lead coordination workshops to identify and resolve design clashes, interface risks, and operational concerns.
  • Ensure electrical systems support overall project functionality, resilience, sustainability, and operational objectives.

Technical Assurance & Design Review

  • Review engineering calculations, electrical studies, and design reports including:
  • Load Demand Assessments
  • Load Flow Studies
  • Short Circuit Analysis
  • Protection Coordination Studies
  • Arc Flash Studies
  • Power Quality Assessments
  • Reliability and Redundancy Analysis
  • Verify design compliance, constructability, maintainability, and operational readiness.
  • Ensure design solutions support long-term asset management strategies and operational requirements.

Cost, Value Engineering & Risk Management

  • Work closely with Development, Commercial, and Cost Management teams to align electrical designs with approved budgets and project objectives.
  • Lead value engineering reviews without compromising safety, performance, reliability, or operational requirements.
  • Identify technical risks, programme impacts, and cost implications and recommend mitigation measures.
  • Support lifecycle cost assessments and whole-life asset value optimization.

Construction & Delivery Support

  • Apply strong construction and execution knowledge to ensure electrical design packages are practical, coordinated, and ready for implementation.
  • Support design-to-construction transitions, technical queries, shop drawing reviews, and site coordination activities.
  • Participate in testing, commissioning, and handover readiness reviews.
  • Support Operational Readiness and Transition (ORT) activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical engineering design and project delivery.
  • Minimum 7 years in senior design management or leadership roles.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or Engineering Management preferred.
  • Proven experience managing consultant-led design teams on large-scale mixed-use developments, cities, infrastructure, airports, metros, utilities, theme parks, or giga-projects.
  • Extensive experience with power distribution systems, LV/MV infrastructure, substations, switchgear, and critical electrical systems.
  • Experience in Saudi Arabia or GCC mega-project developments preferred

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
