Position Purpose Responsible for leading and managing all aspects of U.S. import and export trade compliance for the San Antonio manufacturing facility to ensure adherence to applicable international trade laws, regulations, and company policies. This role serves as the site subject matter expert for customs compliance, duty optimization, supply chain security, and government agency requirements while mitigating regulatory risk and supporting business continuity. The Trade Compliance Manager partners with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure compliant and efficient movement of goods across international borders and drives continuous improvement in trade compliance processes and controls. Major Tasks, Responsibilities & Key Accountabilities
Lead and manage site-level import and export compliance activities, ensuring adherence to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and applicable government agency requirements. Oversee tariff classification (HTSUS), customs valuation, country of origin determinations, and qualification for USMCA and other Free Trade Agreements. Develop, implement, and maintain trade compliance procedures, internal controls, work instructions, and compliance monitoring processes. Manage customs brokers, freight forwarders, and third-party service providers to ensure accurate customs filings, KPI performance, and regulatory compliance. Support and oversee Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) operations, CTPAT program requirements, supply chain security initiatives, and audit readiness activities. Review import and export documentation for accuracy, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, broker instructions, and supporting customs records. Conduct compliance audits, risk assessments, corrective action initiatives, and post-entry activities including PSCs, protests, reconciliations, and other CBP filings. Monitor regulatory developments, tariff changes, trade remedies, and enforcement trends while providing guidance and recommendations to business stakeholders. Deliver training and compliance guidance to Supply Chain, Logistics, Sourcing, Engineering, Finance, Operations, and other functional teams. Support duty optimization, duty drawback initiatives, and business continuity planning through proactive identification and mitigation of trade-related risks. Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in business, Supply Chain, International Trade, Logistics, Finance, or a related field. Five (5) or more years of experience in import/export compliance, customs compliance, international trade, or a related field. Strong working knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin determination, recordkeeping requirements, and broker management. Experience with HTS classification, USMCA/FTA qualification, customs documentation review, and CBP post-entry processes. Must pass any drug screens, background checks, and any pre-employment tests, which will be conducted in accordance with applicable law. Preferred Qualifications
Licensed Customs Broker (LCB). Experience supporting Foreign-Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and compliance requirements. Experience with CTPAT programs, supply chain security initiatives, and trade risk management. Experience with CBP Reconciliation processes, duty drawback programs, and tariff mitigation strategies. Manufacturing industry experience supporting high-volume import and export operations.

Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs and international trade compliance regulations. Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and implement practical business solutions. Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Experience utilizing ERP systems, ACE Portal, broker portals, and trade compliance software. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and compliance initiatives simultaneously. Ability to develop and deliver effective compliance training programs for business stakeholders.
