For more than 140 years, Johnson Controls has delivered performance where it really matters. Backed by advanced technology, lifecycle services and an industry-leading field organization, we elevate customer performance, turn goals into real-world results and help move society forward.

What you will do:

  • Perform, validate, and optimize pressure vessel product designs for manufacturing, ensuring compliance with ASME requirements, plant capabilities, quality standards, and customer specifications.
  • Close collaboration with JADEC (Engineering, Design, Technical Support, Quality, Product Management) teams to drive all the requirements needed to be implemented in Manufacturing side.
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring robust implementation of new products, engineering changes, and continuous product improvements.
  • Evaluate and analyze pressure vessel designs considering refrigeration principles, thermodynamic performance, manufacturability, fabrication processes, assembly requirements, and plant constraints.
  • Conduct engineering feasibility assessments to determine product manufacturability, process capability, production readiness, and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Lead the implementation of new products and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), ensuring alignment with Johnson Controls Management System (JCMS) principles, line balancing, capacity planning, process optimization, and operational excellence.
  • Assess the technical, operational, quality, cost, and customer impacts associated with engineering changes, identifying risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans before implementation.
  • Develop engineering evaluations to quantify potential savings, cost avoidance, productivity improvements, material optimization opportunities, and business impacts generated by engineering changes.
  • Drive ECN planning, execution, validation, and deployment activities, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation without disruptions to quality, delivery, or manufacturing performance.
  • Develop, maintain, and control all product engineering documentation including drawings, 3D models, bills of materials, specifications, DXFs, design records, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Apply engineering fundamentals, design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), value engineering, and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize product performance and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Serve as the technical focal point for assigned product lines, providing engineering expertise to manufacturing, quality, sourcing, operations, and commercial teams.

How you will do it:

  • Lead and execute engineering change management processes, ensuring technical accuracy, effective planning, risk assessment, validation, and successful implementation.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, performance feedback, and professional development support to assigned engineering personnel.
  • Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance objectives for team members while promoting a high-performance culture.
  • Lead cross-functional decision-making processes to prioritize engineering activities, resolve organizational barriers, and ensure timely execution of critical projects.
  • Promote a culture of engineering excellence through the application of advanced engineering principles, quality standards, APQP methodologies, and best practices.
  • Develop future technical leaders through mentoring, delegation, structured development plans, and challenging assignments.
  • Manage engineering workload balancing, workforce planning, resource allocation, and project prioritization to maximize team effectiveness.
  • Drive a culture of ownership, engagement, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the engineering organization.
  • Utilize APQP methodology and Core Tools (PFMEA, DFMEA, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, MSA, SPC) to ensure product and process robustness.
  • Provide engineering leadership on the production floor, actively supporting manufacturing teams to resolve technical issues, improve processes, and drive sustainable solutions.
  • Develop ergonomic, manufacturable, and cost-effective product design solutions that improve safety, quality, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Analyze manufacturing processes and product designs to identify value engineering opportunities, productivity improvements, cost reductions, and waste elimination initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional technical reviews involving Product Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Procurement, Operations, and external stakeholders.
  • Drive a strong engineering quality culture by ensuring compliance with APQP requirements, design validation standards, ASME requirements, and quality management system expectations.
  • Apply PST problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and implement permanent corrective actions.
  • Demonstrate 360° leadership through influence, collaboration, technical mentorship, stakeholder management, accountability, and effective communication across all organizational levels.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean Manufacturing principles, JCMS standards, data-driven decision making, and operational excellence methodologies.
  • Ensure engineering deliverables meet customer expectations regarding quality, cost, manufacturability, schedule, and regulatory compliance.
  • Actively participate in design reviews, risk assessments, lessons learned activities, product validation, and implementation readiness reviews.
  • Maintain close collaboration with support departments including CCC, FFCC, Quality, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Operations.
  • Ensure cost reduction initiatives are properly evaluated, validated, and implemented within the manufacturing operation.
  • Support and comply with all corporate EHS, Quality, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, JCMS, and ASME requirements.
  • Report unsafe conditions, support investigations, participate in audits, risk assessments, safety observations, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Maintain workplace organization through 5S standards and promote a culture of operational discipline and safety excellence.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
