The posting

What you will do

  • Lead local field operations for suppression construction and retrofit projects in the Aurora/Denver metro area, ensuring schedule adherence, cost control, and quality across day‑to‑day field activities.
  • Manage and coach a team of field technicians, providing daily direction, resource allocation, and on‑site support to meet safety, productivity, and customer experience goals.
  • Plan monthly technician routes and labor loading to maximize crew utilization, minimize travel time, and align capacity with committed milestones and cash‑flow targets
  • Own customer satisfaction for assigned projects—proactively communicate scope, changes, and progress; resolve issues; and drive repeat business through professional delivery and closeout.
  • Ensure uncompromising safety compliance, enforcing Johnson Controls EHS standards and all AHJ requirements; lead toolbox talks, pre‑task plans, and incident response/reporting.
  • Analyze team performance and project KPIs (labor productivity, margin, change orders, punch‑list aging) and recommend improvements in methods, staffing, and subcontractor mix to protect profitability and schedule.
  • Coordinate materials and subcontractors (fabrication, special hazards equipment, inspections) to keep crews working with the right parts at the right time; steward procurement and billing workflows.
  • Champion Johnson Controls standards in installation practices, documentation, and commissioning for suppression systems; drive quality and right‑first‑time outcomes

How you will do it

  • Plan & dispatch: Build 4–6‑week labor plans and monthly route sheets; level crews daily based on job status, site readiness, and change‑orders
  • Coach for performance: Set clear expectations, conduct ride‑alongs and site audits, and provide timely feedback to elevate craftsmanship, safety behaviors, and customer communication
  • Control the job: Track install progress to the plan; approve timesheets; manage extras; trigger material releases; and align inspections/commissioning to achieve milestone billing.
  • Manage partners: Source and oversee qualified subs; verify scope, T&Cs, and safety readiness; and ensure compliant, efficient execution.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Use KPI dashboards and branch reviews to identify variances and implement corrective actions that strengthen margin and cycle time.

What we look for

Required

  • Education: University degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: 6+ years in fire suppression, sprinkler, or special hazards field operations/construction management—or closely related trades; proven success managing multi‑site crews and schedules. (role requirement; JCI JD style)
  • Technical proficiency with suppression systems, drawings, and installation standards; strong understanding of job‑site safety protocols and compliance.
  • Operational acumen: Able to plan routes/labor, read budgets, interpret KPIs, and make decisions that balance customer satisfaction with financial goals.
  • Communication & leadership: Clear, confident communicator with a track record of coaching field technicians and collaborating with customers, GCs, and inspectors.

Preferred

  • NICET certifications or suppression/sprinkler design credentials; familiarity with brands and tools across the Johnson Controls portfolio (e.g., TYCO, ANSUL, SPRINKCAD).
  • Experience delivering branch‑level suppression projects within a rolling backlog.
  • Vendor/subcontractor management experience and fluency in change‑order practices

Driving & site access: Valid driver’s license; ability to travel between job sites and branch office; meet customer/site safety and access requirements.

What we offer

  • A culture that values safety, integrity, and customer‑driven performance, plus opportunities to grow within a global leader in fire suppression solutions.
  • Competitive benefits and career development aligned to Johnson Controls standards and brand guidelines.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
