The posting

SUMMARY Responsible for care of children in the program. Follow and model care as required. Plan and implement development programs and curriculum. Maintain records as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

- Provide direct care of infant/toddlers.

- Elicit parental preference in the care of all children.

- Follow and model child care as developed by District, Department of Human Services National Health and Safety Standards, Triad and Educare Colorado, and the American Academy of Pediatrics.

- Plan and implement developmental programs for children as appropriate and implement curriculum with active participation of other members of the child care and teaching team.

- Maintain records as required by law and/or best practice including but not limited to: daily nutrition, immunizations, weight and developmental progress of children.

- Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING High school diploma or GED equivalent, including completion of course-work in Early Childhood Education preferred. Must meet requirements as outlined in the State of Colorado Rules Regulating Childcare Center.

EXPERIENCE Previous experience with infants or toddlers in a group setting preferred.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT Ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.

SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY This position does not have supervisory responsibilities

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to an inherent potential for exposure to communicable diseases, contact with mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, and/or feces, or potential for spills or splashes of them. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and use interpersonal skills.

DIVERSITY OF DUTIES: Duties and hours of work vary and are often required to do shift work. Tasks are often shared and employee will work in teams.
