Our Service Department is the heart of our operation, and we are looking for a professional Service Advisor who can act as the bridge between our customers and our technical team, ensuring every guest receives the legendary service they expect from the Jim Bass name.

Job Description

Jim Bass Ford is seeking a dynamic and organized Automotive Service Advisor. In this role, you are more than just a point of contact, you are a consultant, a problem solver, and a sales professional. You will be responsible for managing the customer’s entire service experience, from initial check-in to vehicle delivery.

The ideal candidate has a friendly, professional demeanor, a strong work ethic, and the ability to explain complex technical repairs in a way that is easy for customers to understand. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and are motivated by performance-based pay, we want to talk to you.

Job Type

  • Full-time

Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • Rotating Saturdays
  • No Sundays

Pay

$60,000 - $100,000 per year

  • Earning potential is directly tied to your sales performance, customer satisfaction scores (CSI), and departmental goals.

Work Requirements

  • Active Driver’s License with a clean driving record (Required).
  • Ability to commute to San Angelo, TX.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Previous experience in automotive service writing or high-level retail sales is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Guest Relations: Greet customers promptly and professionally, performing a detailed walk-around of their vehicle.
  • Consultative Selling: Identify and recommend necessary maintenance and repairs based on vehicle inspections and manufacturer intervals.
  • Workflow Management: Create detailed repair orders, obtain customer authorization, and coordinate with the Shop Foreman to ensure timely completion of work.
  • Communication: Provide consistent, proactive updates to customers via phone, text, and email regarding the status of their vehicle.
  • Quality Assurance: Review completed repair orders with customers, explaining all work performed and ensuring total satisfaction before they leave.
  • CSI Excellence: Maintain high Customer Service Index (CSI) scores in accordance with dealership and Ford factory standards.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record in customer service or sales.
  • Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage 15-25 customers per day.
  • Basic understanding of automotive systems and maintenance requirements.
  • Proficiency with dealership DMS software (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or Tekion is a plus).
  • Professional appearance and excellent verbal/written communication skills.
