The Director, A&D Functional Leader - Corporate Business Technology (CBT), reports to the Senior Director, Acquisitions & Divestitures and serves as the accountable technology lead for CBT across global acquisition and divestiture transactions. The role manages, orchestrates, and directs the integration and separation of CBT systems, services, data, processes, and workflows from due diligence through transition and stabilization.

The successful candidate partners with CBT leaders, technology product and platform owners, A&D Deal Leads and Program Leads, sector and enterprise technology leaders, the A&D Community of Practice, target company teams, and strategic suppliers to define the CBT technology strategy and deliver transaction outcomes. The leader provides functional subject-matter expertise, drives consistent standards and architecture, secures cross-functional resources, manages dependencies and escalations, and protects business continuity while enabling deal value.

This role requires strong business and technology judgment, executive-level influencing, disciplined financial and program management, meticulous attention to detail, and an AI-forward mindset focused on continuous improvement, reusable solutions, and high-quality execution.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • 45% - Serve as the single point of accountability for all CBT technology activities across the deal lifecycle. Lead CBT due diligence, solution shaping, integration and separation planning, execution, transition, and stabilization. Represent the A&D organization in CBT interactions and decision-making, and maintain clear communication with business, technology, transition management, and target company stakeholders to maximize deal value and minimize disruption.
  • 25% - Lead and coach CBT Technical Product Owners, platform owners, subject-matter experts, and regional leads on standard A&D approaches. Translate deal objectives into technology requirements, milestones, dependencies, and resource plans; secure appropriate CBT capacity and drive consistency across sectors and regions.
  • 10% - Drive continuous improvement across CBT A&D delivery through reusable playbooks, estimates, patterns, metrics, and lessons learned. Identify opportunities to simplify, standardize, and automate work, including responsible use of AI-enabled capabilities where appropriate.
  • 10% - Act as the escalation point for CBT risks, issues, decisions, and cross-platform dependencies on acquisition and divestiture transactions. Convene the right leaders, present options and recommendations, and drive timely resolution within approved scope, schedule, budget, security, quality, and compliance expectations.
  • 5% - Define and lead CBT due diligence requirements and assessments. Identify material technology risks, costs, dependencies, transition service requirements, and Day 1 or separation-readiness considerations, and translate findings into clear recommendations for deal leadership.
  • 5% - Develop and communicate concise financial, operational, and execution updates for diverse audiences. Maintain transparent forecasts, assumptions, decisions, and status reporting, and actively strengthen A&D capability and knowledge-sharing across CBT and the broader technology organization.

Other Duties:

  • Indirectly lead deal-focused CBT resources and partner closely with A&D Deal Leads and Program Leads/Managers. Maintain regular interaction with business and technology leaders and related functions. Based on portfolio demand and development needs, may serve as a deal lead or functional leader for another area.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is required preferably in Computer Science, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience managing large, multidisciplinary programs. Proven track record leading complex transactions and cross-functional teams with executive presence. A minimum of two years of experience with acquisitions and divestitures, investment collaborations, and/or licensing deals.
  • A minimum of 10 years in a technology-focused role working with multiple business functions and enterprise systems. Robust knowledge of enterprise and sector technology platforms and capabilities, as well as their strategic roadmaps and tactical plans.
  • Proven track record collaborating across all levels of business and technology cross-functional teams to drive multiyear programs from inception through completion.
  • Disciplined analytical and financial modeling capabilities, with a track record of financial forecasting accuracy for large, multidisciplinary programs.
  • Highly adaptable and agile, with the ability to drive results under tight deadlines while managing multiple programs, projects, and dynamic priorities concurrently.
  • Ability to shape ambiguity into concrete strategy and associated action.
  • Skilled problem-solver and cross-functional collaborator with a keen business mindset and the ability to drive win-win outcomes across business and technology functions.
  • Strong program and project management experience within the A&D discipline and with supporting tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to effectively engage, lead, and influence colleagues, stakeholders, and leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Outstanding relationship, negotiation, and communication skills. Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical ideas and business strategies to diverse audiences.
  • Ability and willingness to steward confidential, business-critical information and accept the responsibilities and restrictions associated with the role.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
