What this job involves:
As a Development & Permitting Coordinator, you will support the management of land use entitlements, zoning approvals, and building permits for construction and development projects. Under the guidance of senior team members, you will help navigate regulatory requirements and coordinate with various stakeholders to support project approvals. Your developing expertise in permitting processes, attention to detail, and organizational skills will be essential to supporting successful project delivery. Your collaborative approach and commitment to learning will help you grow within our culture of excellence and client service.
What your day-to-day will look like:
- Supporting the preparation and submission of permit applications for land use, zoning, building, and environmental approvals
- Assisting in the coordination with government agencies, planning departments, and regulatory bodies throughout the permitting process
- Helping to track permit applications, approval timelines, and compliance requirements
- Conducting research on zoning regulations, building codes, and land use policies under supervision
- Preparing documentation and reports for permit submissions with review from senior colleagues
- Supporting due diligence activities related to site feasibility and regulatory constraints
- Assisting in the coordination of technical consultants including surveyors, engineers, environmental specialists, and land use attorneys
- Monitoring project schedules and alerting team members to potential permitting delays or issues
- Maintaining organized records of all permit applications, approvals, correspondence, and compliance documentation
- Attending meetings with regulatory agencies and stakeholders as assigned
- Supporting senior team members in preparing presentations for planning boards and public hearings
- Assisting in the development of permitting strategies and timelines for assigned projects
- Building relationships with local officials and regulatory contacts under guidance

Required qualifications:
- Minimum of 4-7 years of experience in development, permitting, land use planning, or related field
- Basic understanding of land use regulations, zoning codes, and building permit processes
- Strong organizational skills with ability to track multiple permit applications and deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret site plans, zoning maps, and basic architectural drawings
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Willingness to learn and develop expertise in regulatory processes
Preferred qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, Environmental Studies, Construction Management, or related field
- Experience with commercial real estate development or data center projects
- Familiarity with environmental permitting requirements (wetlands, stormwater, air quality)
- Basic knowledge of entitlement processes including rezoning and special use permits
- Experience coordinating with government agencies and consultants
- Understanding of site development processes and construction documentation
- Exposure to public engagement processes and community meetings
- Familiarity with permit tracking software or project management tools
- Knowledge of sustainable development practices and green building standards
- Basic understanding of CEQA, NEPA, or other environmental review processes

Expected compensation for this position:
96,470.00 – 139,700.00 USD per year
Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.
