  • Establishing and implementing commissioning processes, procedures, and quality assurance frameworks for Tier III/IV mission-critical environments, aligned with ASHRAE, NFPA, and IEEE standards
  • Overseeing a team of commissioning managers and field technicians, including providing guidance on performance, allocating resources, managing staffing schedules, and delivering technical coaching across projects
  • Serving as a key escalation point for complex technical or operational challenges on flagship projects, coordinating directly with design teams, contractors, vendors, and testing agencies
  • Overseeing integrated systems testing protocols for electrical systems (UPS, generators, switchgear, PDUs), mechanical systems (chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers), BMS/EPMS platforms, and fire protection systems
  • Reviewing and maintaining commissioning documentation standards, including test procedures, functional performance tests, progress reports, final commissioning reports, and O&M manuals
  • Ensuring strict team compliance with safety regulations including OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E arc flash protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and confined space regulations
  • Identifying opportunities to integrate emerging technologies and innovative tools, including liquid cooling systems, digital commissioning platforms, and automation strategies
  • Managing moderate-sized budgets, tracking expenditures, assessing risks, and coordinating stakeholder communications to maintain project timelines across concurrent engagements

Desired experience and technical skills:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline from an accredited four-year institution preferred; OR 12-15+ years of progressive mission-critical commissioning experience with demonstrated leadership
  • Minimum 10-15 years of hands-on commissioning experience in mission-critical facilities, with at least 5 years in leadership or management roles
  • Proven track record commissioning hyperscale data centers (10MW+ IT load) and Tier III/IV facilities across multiple project delivery methods
  • Deep technical knowledge of electrical distribution systems including medium voltage equipment, transformers, ATS, UPS systems (2N, N+1 configurations), generators, paralleling switchgear, and PDUs
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical cooling systems including chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, cooling towers, pumping systems, and economization strategies
  • Expertise in functional performance testing, integrated systems testing, commissioning test procedures, and acceptance criteria development for mission-critical environments
  • Demonstrated success building and managing high-performing technical teams with proven ability in mentoring, performance management, and talent development
  • Expert-level proficiency in project management software (Procore, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6) and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex technical information to executive-level stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with systems-thinking approach to root cause analysis and solution development
  • Proven ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and make rapid decisions under pressure across multiple concurrent high-stakes projects
  • Availability to travel up to 40% overall (approximately 20–25% per active project across up to two concurrent projects).

Preferred:

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), Certified Commissioning Authority (CxA), LEED AP BD+C, or Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP)
  • OSHA 30-Hour and NFPA 70E Qualified Electrical Worker certifications
  • Experience with commissioning management software (Bluerithm, CxAlloy, CXAPP), DCIM platforms, and BIM/CAD tools

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
