The ideal candidate will be available to work full-time during the Summer Internship Program (May 24th, 2027 - July 30th, 2027).

They will learn about JM Family’s culture, including our core values: Consideration, Cooperation, Communication, Innovation and Accountability. These core values are part of our keys to success and the skills that embody these values are what drive our success as an organization.

As a Corporate Community Impact Intern, you will support programs and initiatives that engage associates in giving back to the communities where we live and work. Through event coordination, stakeholder engagement, communications, research, and operational support, you will contribute to JM Family’s longstanding commitment to community involvement and help the Community Impact team deliver meaningful experiences for associates and nonprofit partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning, coordination, and execution of Community Impact programs and events, including companywide Back-to-School initiatives and the Summer Intern Community Impact Project across JM Family locations.
  • Coordinate event logistics, materials, supplies, volunteer needs, and other details while supporting additional volunteer and community engagement opportunities throughout the summer.
  • Collaborate with nonprofit partners, associates, volunteers, and internal business partners to help ensure Community Impact programs and events are meaningful and successful.
  • Assist with communications that promote events and initiatives, including volunteer recruitment, engagement, promotional materials, and follow-up communications.
  • Support Community Impact reporting, data management, and administrative processes using Blackbaud, Microsoft Excel, and other internal systems.
  • Research corporate giving, employee engagement, nonprofit and philanthropic trends, and innovative approaches to companywide giving campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reporting, data organization, and team efficiency while supporting additional projects and priorities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • This is a full-time position with flexible working arrangements depending on the business need.
  • The ideal candidate will be actively enrolled in a bachelor’s, master’s, or other degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university, with a focus in a relevant field. Candidates in related fields will also be considered. Must have completed at least one semester of coursework.
  • Relevant fields of study may include Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Business Administration, Management, Nonprofit Management, Information Systems, Information Science, Data Analytics, or a related field. Marketing, Communications, or Business students with a minor or concentration in Information Systems, Information Science, Data Analytics, or a related technology field are especially relevant.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the professionalism and confidence to communicate effectively with a variety of internal and external audiences.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail skills, with the ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is preferred; experience with data management, reporting, event planning, communications, or project management is beneficial.
  • Team-oriented, outgoing, professional, and quick to learn, with the ability to represent the Community Impact team enthusiastically when engaging with associates, volunteers, nonprofit partners, and other stakeholders.

Why it works

3×

more interviews than doing it yourself with ChatGPT.

ChatGPT writes a CV and never learns what happened to it. We see every reply. For each CV we know:

  • How it was written, and how the review scored it
  • When we applied, and how long after the posting went up
  • Which posting, which company, which city
  • Who got the interview, and who heard nothing

That is how we know which CVs get called.
