* Completed university or technical college degree in agronomy, biology, environmental sciences or a comparable field (degree obtained no more than 18 months ago) * A strong interest in practical research as well as enjoyment and endurance in field work * Knowledge in production of arable crops and knowledge of statistics are desirable * Committed, flexible, reliable and team-oriented personality * Knowledge of two official Swiss languages and English

****In a nutshell****

The research groups "Extension Arable Crops" and "Extension Vegetable Crops" develop ecological measures for pest, disease and weed control and test varieties and cropping systems of various agricultural crops with regard to their suitability for cultivation and use under Swiss conditions. In the SNSF project "PhenoMix" (, pure stands of lentils and cereal varieties are compared with corresponding intercrops in field trials. Plant development is recorded throughout the entire season using optical 3D methods. Subsequently, models are developed to determine optimal variety combinations, and the agronomic and economic value of the intercrops is analysed.The internship in the research group Extension Arable Crops provides comprehensive knowledge of field experiments and post-harvest laboratory analyses. With your commitment and the acquired knowledge, you will contribute to the successful implementation of the project.

The 'Plants and Plant Products' Competence Division for researches into practical solutions for the Swiss plant production sector and performs various enforcement activities.
