Подбор необходимой заготовки (древесины, плитного материала - ДСП, МДФ, фанеры и т.д.) в соответствии с заданием; Проверка качества заготовки (отсутствие дефектов, влажность, геометрия); Подготовка, установка и наладка режущего инструмента (пильных дисков, фрез, сверл, ножей) в соответствии с технологической операцией; Настройка параметров работы станка (скорость подачи, частота вращения шпинделя, глубина реза); Загрузка, надежное закрепление и позиционирование заготовки на рабочем столе, в приспособлениях или конвейере; Непосредственное управление станком в ручном, полуавтоматическом или автоматическом режиме; Контроль за процессом обработки, наблюдение за работой механизмов и режущего инструмента; Своевременная подача и удаление заготовок для обеспечения непрерывности процесса; Выполнение операций по обработке древесины: пиление, строгание, фрезерование, сверление, шлифование, точение и др; Своевременное выявление и отбраковка дефектной продукции (сучки, сколы, неправильные размеры); Внесение корректировок в настройки станка для поддержания требуемого качества; Ежедневная уборка рабочей зоны и станка от стружки, опилок и пыли; Проведение регулярного технического обслуживания: смазка движущихся частей, замена смазочно-охлаждающей жидкости (СОЖ), очистка направляющих и подшипников; Проверка остроты и целостности режущего инструмента, своевременная замена или заточка; Участие в планово-предупредительных ремонтах (ППР) оборудования; Проверка исправности защитных кожухов, ограждений и аварийных выключателей перед началом работы; Фиксация простоев и их причи.

Желательно наличие среднеего профессионального образования; Умение отличать породы дерева, знать их свойства (твердость, влажность, направление волокон), а также характеристики плитных материалов (ДСП, МДФ, фанера); Умение устанавливать, заменять и настраивать режущий инструмент (пилы, фрезы, ножи); Знание правил заточки и условий эксплуатации инструмента; Умение выполнять базовые регулировки станка (настройка упоров, направляющих, подачи);
