Контроль технического состояния оборудования. Инженер‑механик регулярно осматривает насосы, задвижки, компрессоры, электродвигатели, трубопроводы и другое оборудование, фиксирует износ и потенциальные неисправности. Организация и проведение технического обслуживания и ремонтов. Планирует и контролирует планово‑предупредительные ремонты (ППР), участвует в аварийных работах, координирует действия ремонтного персонала. Диагностика и устранение неисправностей. Выявляет причины отказов оборудования, подбирает способы ремонта, контролирует качество выполненных работ. Работа с технической документацией. Ведёт паспорта оборудования, журналы ремонтов и осмотров, дефектные ведомости, акты выполненных работ; обновляет схемы и инструкции. Подбор запчастей и комплектующих. Формирует заявки на закупку деталей, оценивает совместимость и соответствие техническим требованиям, иногда участвует в приёмке и входном контроле.
