Организация статистического учёта и учёта медико-статистической информации. Включает кодирование данных, ведение документации, взаимодействие со страховыми медицинскими организациями, организацию обучения медицинских работников правилам учёта и кодирования. Анализ показателей деятельности медицинской организации и здоровья населения. Использование статистических методов, информационно-аналитических медицинских систем и интернета для сбора и оценки данных. Планирование развития здравоохранения. Составление проектов планов развития региона, района или медицинской организации, анализ ситуации для планирования развития различных видов медицинской помощи. Внедрение передового опыта и новых организационных технологий. Организация работы по внедрению эффективных методов организации труда, анализ и обобщение передового опыта работы медицинских учреждений. Разработка методических материалов и рекомендаций. Создание указаний по улучшению организации деятельности медицинских организаций, рецензирование методических материалов, участие в разработке образовательных программ. Организация мероприятий. Проведение семинаров, совещаний, конференций по обмену опытом, подготовка информационных писем, методических рекомендаций, наглядных пособий. Контроль качества и безопасности медицинской деятельности. Участие во внутреннем контроле, проведение экспертиз в рамках своих полномочий. Высшее медицинское образование (специалитет по одной из специальностей: Лечебное дело, Педиатрия, Медико-профилактическое дело, Стоматология ) и подготовку в интернатуре или ординатуре по специальности Организация здравоохранения и общественное здоровье либо профессиональную переподготовку по этой специальности при наличии соответствующей подготовки.
