Соблюдение правил дорожного движения и требований Основных положений по допуску транспортных средств к эксплуатации . Обеспечение безопасного вождения, включая выбор скорости движения и дистанции, которые исключают аварийные ситуации. Контроль технического состояния автомобиля перед выездом на линию. При выявлении неисправностей их устранение (самостоятельно или с привлечением специалистов). Содержание автомобиля в чистоте (двигатель, кузов, салон) с использованием специальных средств. Своевременная заправка топливом, доливка масел и других необходимых жидкостей . Заблаговременное планирование оптимального маршрута для быстрого доставления пассажиров в назначенное место. Обеспечение безопасности пассажиров во время движения и ответственность за их жизнь и здоровье. Выполнение поручений руководителя, включая мелкие и конфиденциальные задания. Оформление путевых документов (отметки о маршрутах, пройденном километраже, расходе топлива и т. д.). Водитель также должен знать: правила этикета; правила оказания первой помощи при несчастных случаях; технические характеристики и общее устройство автомобиля; сроки проведения технического обслуживания и осмотров; особенности местности, в которой осуществляется деятельность, главные дороги и объездные пути.

Знание основ управления транспортным средством соответствующей категории; Знание режимов движения с учётом дорожных условий, включая особенности дорожного покрытия; Знание особенностей наблюдения за дорожной обстановкой; Знание способов контроля безопасной дистанции и бокового интервала; Знание последовательности действий при вызове аварийных и спасательных служб; Знание основ обеспечения безопасности наиболее уязвимых участников дорожного движения (пешеходов, велосипедистов); Знание последствий нарушения ПДД; Знание последовательности действий при оказании первой помощи, состав автомобильной аптечки; Знание назначений, устройства, взаимодействия и принципов работы основных механизмов, приборов и деталей транспортного средства соответствующей категории; Знание признаков неисправностей, возникающих в пути; Знание мер ответственности за нарушение ПДД; Знание влияния погодно-климатических и дорожных условий на безопасность дорожного движения; Знание правил по охране труда при эксплуатации транспортного средства и обращении с эксплуатационными материалами; Знание основных положений по допуску транспортных средств к эксплуатации.
